Yes, it hasn't been the same for years but yet another Miami institution has died. My heart and my permanently damaged liver ache today, gentlemen. RIP.

I can remember Gino Toretta bartending late Saturday night after he played in a home game, great times.

I'm not so sure there was or ever will be another bar in the country that size that had that amount of college and NFL greats as patrons and even occasional bartenders. So many stories like that about Gino.

We once sat and discussed Shockey's draft stock for like an hour there on a Tuesday night.....with Shockey....as he mooched pitchers of Miller Lite.

Then there was the night OJ showed up too.

I'm really gonna miss puking in and on that filthy filthy bathroom.

Even I have been to that joint and I am not from Miami... That was a good spot, got torched in there one night with my buddies.

My last stop to Miami , my buddy and I stopped in the grove and went to the Tavern. It was really really dead. We were the only ones in there. The whole grove was pretty dead too.

Wynwood and the Grove residents and Uber/Lyft pretty much killed the Grove. But those things also tend to be cyclical in Miami too.
