OT: Trip to Miami. Questions for Locals/Frequents

Seems like you're there to party but if you are looking for something off the beaten path, perhaps consider a visit to the beach at Cape Florida in Key Biscayne. Climb up the lighthouse for a great view of the city.

Thanks , Rk. Ill ad that to the list

Do you know where in Lauderdale you'll be staying? You most likely should get a rental regardless if you really want to explore Miami/Lauderdale. Like someone said, South Beach isn't all that. I personally prefer Hollywood Beach but that's just me. I rarely venture out to Miami, unless I have to go to work, so I'll do my best.

Island Fusion Grill(Carribean) in Davie
Miami Finga Licking(Soul) in Miami Gardens
House of Wings(Wings) in Overtown
If y'all are on South Beach probably checkout Yardbird too($)

I tried to tell this guy.....

Seeing as how I got friends up here in VA from OT. I aint that stupid.

Although, it wouldn't scare me any. They might think im a local with all this gold in my mouth.
I think Cane was just talking soul, fried chicken, and bbq. I’m sure he wasn’t trying to lead you into any trouble. Then again, I don’t know him at all and am quite comfortable in both areas. Now, Opa Locka is a place you might want to avoid unless you into excitement. Although, there was a dude on 27th ave and about NW 150 street, that had the best bbq ribs every weekend cooking in old half of a 55 gal can. I’m old so he is probably long gone now.

Y'all gotta hit up Wynwood. Make sure to hit the breweries in the afternoon and The Wood or Brick at night.
To eat, you can't go wrong with House of Mac, located at the Wynwood Yard. If you're looking for great Cuban food, hit up La Carreta on SW 8th Street and 36th Court (Rice & beans, plantains and breaded steak or "chicharron de pollo" aka fried chicken). You'll remember me for it. Versailles is bouje as f***. If y'all looking to dabble with some seafood, try Garcia's or La Camaronera. An up and coming "happy hour" spot is The Wharf on Friday's or weekends. If you got the time and flow, everybody has to do LIV on Sundays once in their lifetime. And last but certainly not least, Tootsies or KOD, or if you're feelin' froggy hit up The Office.

LET'S GO CANES!!!!

thank you. If you were going to spend a few hours on the beach. Where would you go?
Easy money, Hollywood beach completely redone boardwalk and margaritaville. I went to south beach 2 months ago after not going for like 5 years, and wow literally almost every single establishment was vacant it was sad.

Thanks man. That was really clutch! I appreciate cha!

Plenty of action in Fort Lauderdale Beach. You'll be over South Beach in about an hour. Nothing special anymore-- overly commercial, over-priced

type of advice im looking for. I don't want to debate with my friends about shid like this when we get there. Im taking control of this thing.

My man. Thanks for saving me the headache.

Casa Frida off federal and commercial... great Mexican food

Cap's Place by lighthouse point ... awesome seafood, historic restaurant (you take a little boat from a dock to the restaurant)

Big Bear Brewery ... off university and Atlantic. Good food and solid beer made in house

Spot on with Casa Frida!

If you do go to South Beach at all, stay away from the obvious garbage and go to the Sunset Harbor neighborhood, for Pubbelly. Also, Sweet Liberty is an excellent bar that isn't an obvious tourist trap.

I'd look into renting a car if you're going to be out and about. The uber form Fort Lauderdale to HRS shouldn't be too bad but if you're planning on heading into Miami proper or even just seeing the sights, there's going to be a lot of driving involved and there's no real public transportation here.

Hanging in South Beach is the suck. If you're going to be in Miami, go to Wynwood. Friday's is 1-800-Lucky. They have a kick *** Asian food hall and live DJ to boot that makes this party uniquely Miami AF.

You need to also get some Cuban seafood. Highly recommend "La Camaronera". It's cash only and has some particular hours of operation but if you can make it there, you're going to order:

"Pan Con Minuta" (Fried Red Snapper sandwich)
"Frituritas de cobo" (Conch Fritters)
"Camarones Fritos" (Their famous fried shrimp)
and wash it all down with a Materva (cuban soft drink, kinda red-bull-ish, but not)

You also cannot be in FTL and not go to Laspadas subs. That's a bannable offense.
