It seems my post really irritated your ******. Have a glass of cranberry juice while I explain my theory again. 10-12 million is pocket change to Texas. Michigan pays Harbaugh 8 million per year and he's a much worse coach than Mullen. Mullen has been successful at every place he's been. Sabans is obviously worth it, his 9 mil per year doesn't include the non cash compensation like the multimillion dollar house bought by boosters, private jets, etc. He's probably in the 13 million+ range when you add it all up.
Even if Mullen ends up being a Mario Cristobal and in his first four years at Texas just wins the conference a few times, but not a natty, that is well worth the 10 million investment given the revenue streams that would generate for Texas. I don't think you comprehend how desperate Texas is to win and how much money they have.
You got it backwards - Texas won't counter with 10 mil, I think that's the number they put on the table, the 7 million is what I think will be UF's counter. They don't have the money to pay a coach 10 mil + so if Mullen stays at UF its because he really likes it there as he will have to take a discount.
