Helmetsalmon is the kind of guy you end up stuck next to at an airport bar who tells you how much he hates flying, that particular airport, and the airline industry before spilling his drink on you.

I haven’t gotten it this year. In fact it’s been years for me, I’ve been lucky as **** because I fly a lot too. What’s it like this year? Mild? Heavy? I don’t remember when it was, a few years ago, but the last time I got the flu, it absolutely kicked my *** for about a week. I think it was one of the bad ones. But that was a few years ago.

It's heavy... It starts going away and then comes back. It seems that I get sick every time i fly. Just got back from a weekend in the DR and i haven't stopped coughing.

The irony for me OCCC is this is the first year I've ever had a flu shot. They say there's many strains and the shot can only cover so many. I guess I got a strain the shot didn't cover! It's been at least 25 years since I had the flu last. A little tougher now that I'm older!

Hope you had a great time in the DR. My step-daughter is a pharmacist and she likes to track trends in different types of viruses in our area. She's found that over the last 10 years or so, viruses unrelated to the flu are more common. Granted, her data is limited because she only tracks cases at the hospital she works at but it's still an interesting finding.

A little "drink" for that cough?

I should be getting the flu shot every year, there’s almost no reason not to for me, but I’ll admit I didn’t get it this last year. I have gotten it on and off. Some years yes, some years now. No rhyme or reason.
