Just blew the roof off this town. Just got back from south Philly down by the stadium where they started in time to see the guys pull up to the Art Museum steps. The energy is unreal.

Rooting for a team this year in SB was tough. I hate the Pats because I'm a Dolphins fan. I don't mind the Eagles but I hate the city of Philadelphia. What a sh$thole city filled with the dregs of humanity. I drove through the city once and I sh#t you not, as soon as I entered city limits I saw a white dude puking out the passenger side window while the car was moving and hitting the cars behind him with vomit. Not ten minutes later, I saw five black kids literally stomping the head of another kid on the sidewalk and kicking him in the stomach. I called the police to report it, and they said, "Ok, thanks for letting us know." I was hoping the Super Bowl would end "Black Sunday" style but that might have been too much to hope for.

You had ZERO reason to mention that they were black kids - all you needed to say was "five kids".

What does them being black have to do with anything?

You are right. We can figure that one out by not mentioning the color...

I must admit when I moved to the Philly area having previously lived in Houston, Miami and Nashville I was depressed. BUT like almost all the big cities in the Northeast, Philly has undergone a renaissance.

Those old stories about the bad Philly and what a mess it was are just that...old stories and things that anyone that travels has seen and can see in almost any city. Its your loss if you want to keep your old perceptions and incidents. Most people that have a bad impression of the city haven't been there over the past ten years because the city, especially downtown has been totally transformed into an very safe tourist attraction. Philly and its suburbs are among the nation's most livable areas dotted with numerous universities, historical areas galore, great food and good people.

Are there bad parts of Philly, and bad people? Sure just like there are bad parts and bad people in Houston, Miami or Nashville or anywhere else I've ever been. There are idiots everywhere in every town. I've heard horror stories or had some bad experience almost everywhere I've traveled. But as in most places the good far outnumbers the bad

I've been fortunate enough over my career to have a choice on where I choose to reside and for me the Philly area is a great choice although I also live in Florida. So to those knocking the city, its ok and you welcome to live with your old perceptions, because there are millions of others with open minds that now come here annually from all over the world to enjoy all that we have to offer.

Either way I'm enjoying it here and almost anywhere else I've lived ....just like I'm enjoying our victory over those unbeatable Pats

Lighten up, Francis. Was a joke. About as much a joke as saying you'll be able to enjoy your day......while living in Philly.

I’ve lived in a few places. Born in Philly, raised over in the Jersey side. Spent 10 years of my life in South Florida obtaining my education, loved it enough to talk with my son for him to consider being educated/living there. Spent 10 years of my life in Boston, furthering my education and training, and loved it, again, enough for me to talk with my son about being educated there. Came back to Philly for career and family reasons. Wherever you guys grew up, I wish that you could experience a day of joy in your hometown that I experienced today. Sometimes sports is just trancendent.
