Congrats to Willie, but **** we don't need another national power making Florida a priority recruiting area.

He wasn't killing it in recruiting while he was actually in the state, so I wouldn't expect him to be able to convince a significant number of kids to go 3,000 miles away. There will be plenty of talent to choose from on his coast.

Charlie Strong to South Florida would not be good for us.

Huge corch but he can recruit.

So he might cherry pick a few recruits away from UF, FSU, and UM. Not worried. When his big rivalry games are UCF and Temple, he's not going to get kids the way he got them to Louisville.

USF was loaded with quality kids and he didn't have the resources of Oregon behind him.

There's a difference between "quality kids" and "elite prospects being chased by the big three in Florida". He did what any good coach would do at USF. He identified some two and three star players who could succeed in his system to be able to knock off UConn and SMU on a regular basis. He hasn't shown that he can go into a living room and convince an elite player to either go to USF or go across the country.

Give him credit for what he did at USF, but let's not panic just yet.

LOL. UM fans are scared to death of everyone. Taggart, Shannon, Chaz *******, Lame *****in.

South Florida kids have taken visits to Oregon since Phil Knight decided to turn it into a Nike playground. They go there, marvel at the TVs in the hot tubs then come home and forget about Oregon.

Eugene, Oregon is a dump half a world from here no matter how much lipstick that doddering old codger Knight's shaky hands smear on it.

Tighten your pvssy up, Parrotnose. This will have zero effect on UM. In fact, Taggart stood a much better chance taking kids from the area when he was a short drive from UM. Taggart has CA ties from his time with Hypebaugh out there. That's what he'll attempt to use at Oregon.

Only loser in this deal is that poor dopey schlep Butch David. USF might have hired that cheating scoundrel. Instead, he's stuck in that diarrhea puddle of irrelevance at FIU.

No big time recruits is going to usf if they have legit power 5 offers from big schools. Strong wasnt getting highly ranked guys at louisville but he did a good job scouting and devolping.

An unimpressive hire by a program whose run as a "power" will be a blip in history. At least Willie Tags has experience in California from that stint as a Stanford assistant but this is far from an Earth shattering hire- especially so as it'll be the last one de facto AD Phil Knight will make prior to turning 80 too.

And for those worrying about Chuckie Weak or Monte's son ending up at Tampa State and it having ANY major impact on us then you've basically admitted that Rick is NEVER getting us to 10 wins and that we're destined for a future where we're barely still considered a member of the Big Florida 3 because that's the only way the existence of the UCF's and USF's of the world matters to us.

He is going to get the ones that miami, fsu, and uf dont want. Thats how he built those teams at louisville. Those 3 star guys the big schools didnt want he brought them in and they played with a chip on their shoulder.

Anybody who wants tremendous success at USF has to be able to develop talent the way leavitt did and there's nobody like leavitt who doesn't already have a good job

Lol at the Taggert hire.

Oregon obviously didn't learn from the Al Golden era at Miami.

Not sure what impressed Phil Knight more...

The loss by 16 to Temple or the wins over Towson, Northern Illinois, Uconn, Navy, Memphis, SMU or East Carolina.

What a joke.
