Sure, Mike Irving talks a lot but I'm sick of this midget with a Napoleon Complex that dorks like Bomani Jones and Lebatard automatically assume is such a baddddd man. He ever get in or start a fight where he didn't keep his helmet on?

I like Irving standing up. I wish Smith would have stopped the shtick and jumped at him. Old school Irv would've emerged one last time.

That's bull****..steve Smith took 16 seasons to be where he is the top 20 list....if the playmaker had 5 more seasons he would be top 3. Playmaker is a better player than Steve Smith

Steve Smith got his feelings hurt. Good stuff.

Exactly. And I appreciate route running as much as anyone but that's some lame *** **** to be coming at Irving with. One step above talking about your superior blocking abilities in that type of argument with a guy like Mike.

I’m gonna go with the guy in the Hall of Fame. Smith gets into feelings so fast all the time.

you think after winning a NC and 3 Super Bowls and being a HOFer, f**king Canes fans would call him by his real name.

no reason for smith to take personal what Mike said, he was washed up those years he played in baltimore, the only thing steve smith had over Irving is speed

A bad man that steals a dude while he's on his knee and holding his helmet.

" I passed you statistically a long time ago"

Mike's career was cut short by injury, you played 4 more years and finished with 16 more career touchdowns than him, and despite your speed advantage mike average more yards per catch than you, sit down steve.

Michael Irvin

Steve Smith

Also, what can't be lost is the eras they played in too. Steve Smith benefited from much more advantageous rules that favored the passing game and receivers. Illegal contact didn't exist in Irvin's era.

We call him by his real name.

Michelle Irrwing. ;)

Give me playmaker over anyone except Jerry Rice. I might take 88 anyway.

They would've run steve smith off of greentree, irvin was just laughing at smith, he gets emotional cause irvin not gone back down from his comments and he knows that. Had smith been at greentree anywhere from the 1980's - 2003 he would've become a boxer cause he would've been fighting every day, lol. And for real, had he not calmed down, somebody would've taken it further, he got that disrespectful mouth. Irvin done been round some of the realest to ever do it, and he's a real one himself, so smith knows not to go to far, otherwise he gone cause both of them to get fired cause irvin not worried bout dude, he still salty with irvin cause of this too, LoL! What he dont know he gone keep getting clowned, irvin just not trying to mess up them checks.

Its not the first time irvin clowned em either, he said he just trying to stay off the couch, LoL! Look, True story, back in the day, tyson use to come down to Miami alot cause it was one of the only places he could come to and feel normal, the ladies wasnt sweating em, the fellas damyum sho wasnt, that's one of the reasons he lost to buster douglas, im not gone go into all the details, but they asked tyson about how he use to live when he was younger and being wild, tyson said "people think i was wild and all that, but irvin was real wild and crazy" something to that affect, just the mere fact that tyson saying somebody was crazier than him tells you all you need to know, irvin gots no worries, in fact he'd be laughing while fighting with smith, lol.

In that thread, someone posts these stats. If true, case closed.

"Years with 90+ receptions: Irvin: 2 Smith: 1
Years with 1200+ rec yards: Irvin: 5 Smith 3
Years with double digit TD rec: Irvin: 1 Smith: 1
All Pro/Pro Bowl: Irvin: 1/5 Smith: 1/5
SB rings: Irvin: 3 Smith: 0
They both have associates, but it took Smith longer to get his"

Both great players imho.

In the U doc Irvin was one of the guys that was going to get the strap and go after the big time dealers that they were beefing with in the club. LOL

I'm a Panthers fan and as much as I loved Smith on the field, he's a **** off it.

No idea why they've given him a microphone now that his career is over - he's simply not suited to that role.
