OT: Should the Fins go after Cam?

I like Cam Newton’s abilities a lot. And I think he could be a much better quarterback than he is.

But he is his own worst enemy.

He’s not a bad person, seems to have it together on a personal level.

But as far as football, he seems to psych himself out of his own head. He plays himself mentally, gets in his own head, and it affects his play. He’s like too self-conscious or something.

He’s definitely one of those people that worry too much about what other people think and it affects the way he performs. Just my opinion of course.

It is intriguing. Cam does best with big WRs that win 50/50 balls. Williams, Parker, and Gesicki are all really long and fit that MO. Cam looked best with Benjamin (b4 he got fat) and Funchess. It lessens the accurate issues.

I think a Newton would be a perfect fit. Have him lead you to a 2 win season, draft Trevor and cut the queen. Good move for Dolphags

Ive said it before the moves. I wouldnt mind him in this division. He can be a 2-3 year stop gap.
Would not trade for him, tho. They will end up releasing him. His physical situation is too tenuous right now.

But **** yeah, you take a former MVP like Cam.

EDIT: LCE beat me to it.

Cam Newton is a dented can, man. He's a good soldier and all, but I wouldn't trade for him. Not at that contract.

If he comes in on some sort of discounted deal and I am drafting a QB in R1...sure...just to start the season. But I'm yanking him very quickly and moving on. Cam is a "get me to the BYE week" QB right now.

Can I just say, it's lovely to converse about football with sane people.

The Panthers message board is in floods of tears right now. Very few of them can objectively see that Newton isn't the guy he once was. It's painful to read.

Cam had an MVP season and all of the sudden people started overlooking how mediocre he has been every other year of his career

Cam is a warrior. Would love to have him play in teal and orange. That said I could see him in San Diego

Just hit the market with Teddy signing there. We switched to more of a spread concept with Gailey and he’ll probably have the best weapons/O-line/Defense of his career here.

What do y’all say?
Yes. Instant credibility among peers, instant star power. I could see the pats making a move to get him. No way bill will depend on the draft.
