Absofrigginlutely. It is the same as filing a false report and its a felony. Many of them set up dudes and if the police would investigate it like they did Jussie Smollett....it would stop all these bogus and fraudulent women from lying.

Filing a false police report is illegal, so there's that...

If the law says so then they should face whatever penalty is set. Accusing Black men of rape has a profound history in America and to falsely accuse any man of rape should include equal punishment.

Agreed it doesn't matter what race, religion, or creed you are law is law, and this **** needs to stop and they need to start hammering the females for this ****

Gotta throw the book at false accusers of sexual assault. 1. It deligitimizes actual victims and their ability to report 2. It completely destroys the man’s life and reputation beyond repair 3. It undermines our due process. I hope they prosecute to the fullest extent. **** has to end

I agree with everyone about more aggressive prosecutions in relation to false accusations BUT are we sure that was the case here or was there just not enough evidence to convict? There's obviously a big difference as a not guilty verdict doesn't always equal true innocence.

This obviously would only be a factor in charging the accuser with a crime. Oakman should now enjoy the full opportunities afforded to any other member of society.

To me, that's the biggest gray area - just because there wasn't enough to convict doesn't mean the accuser is lying.

If there is evidence - texts, phone calls, etc that shows the accuser made it up and is out for spite or money, absolutely throw the book at them. But if not, it's a very slippery slope bc you are now giving women another reason to not come forward when a crime is committed.

While they’re at it they need to charge Nicole Brown Simpson, Baby Caylee Anthony, and Trayvon Martin, as the defendants in those cases were also “found innocent.”

He was acquitted of all charges because he was able to prove via text message that not only was it consensual but that he already had previous hookups with the girl who falsely accused him.

He was looking at several years in prison for felony 2nd degree sexual assault, he went to trial in WACO TX, if he was guilty of rape they would've locked his *** up as soon as they could. Again, a 6'9 300lbs Black man in WACO TEXAS lol.
