Apparently showing up to work drunk shouldn't get you fired if you're an alcoholic because it's a disease and it's a violation of the American's with disabilities act.

I guess I should've sued my boss when I got fired right after college because I showed up to work everyday ****faced from the night before.

He's going to get millions in a settlement. Anybody would do the same.

Not if you actually ever want to coach again. I can't stand Pat Haden though so I kinda do hope he gets paid- despite the ridiculousness of the nature of his claim.

Scratch one name from the list of potential OCs.

I hope Sark gets the help he obviously needs.

I hope he wins only because Pat Haden's the AD. Other than that, can't see how he wins that. If most of us come to work drunk, we get canned.

I hope he fleeces them for $98M and then gets crushed to death by a Budweiser truck on his way out of the courthouse.

Unless he lied to them when he was hired. If you knew you had a "disability" can you hide it when apply for a job and then once it shows you sue your employer for firing you?

Almost as big a shame as calling a lack of self control a disease, and not just being irresponsible.

I don't think an employer is allowed to ask. That said, I love when people don't do their jobs, get fired, then sue.

On the flip side, a very wise man once told me that if you can't do your job drunk, you can't do your job.

The only way i can see him having somewhat of a case is if they previously knew of his condition (which some will argue that they did) and allowed him to remain the head coach and only got rid of him when the information became public. I believe it also, it depends on what the school's policy/code of conduct states in regards to employees showing up to work intoxicated.

Sort of thing happens all the time. Years ago there was a thread on dumb lawsuits where a woman sued a spermicidal gel company after getting pregnant. She had placed the gel on a sandwich and ate it.

If USC does not have in their possession a code of conduct as an indemnity that he signed and/or if they discharged him without customary formalities then this will certainly grow legs.

Seems like he would have had to have signed something that he would have to uphold the values of the university, blah, blah, blah. Coming to work intoxicated seems to fit, especially if he drove himself there.

Welcome to America 2015. Everybody wants to get rich quick and the less work the better. Sark is a pos for pulling this, when it's his own fault for getting canned. I hope he gets nothing.
