Ok, what am I missing about this guy that made him so highly drafted? He failed to break 100yds in eight games and in two of their biggest (*st & Mich. St) did nothing?
Was he talented, for sure, but I think he got credit for playing at PSU and having three good years.

NFL draft is all about measurable s and this kid KILLED the combine as well as showing some pretty impressive tape. As much as I want to hate on him for going to Penn State, I just can't.
 
I agree with the original post -- and this kids got way too many touches to be around in 5-6 years

Hope I am wrong - I like him
 
This kid is a beast. Measurables off the charts. I watched him play several times and he is great. Don't care that he disappeared in a few games, the skillset is amazing.

The dreaded "measurables"...lol, but seriously what was he so outstanding at that elevated him to his draft status? Its almost as though after the Iowa game he became some superhero. Outside of that his best game was vs Washington and a crappy Neb.

This makes no sense to me. Why do measurable matter if they don’t happen on the field? This is the Derwin James hype. Don’t care that he disappears in games? What?
 
there was a stat yesterday that he got hit on half of his runs behind the line of scrimmage. PSU OL was trash and defenses were playing to take him out of the game(smart strategy) like the MSU game. If he played behind Georgia's OL he would've broken records.

Hes explosive, the reason he doesnt look explosive is because hes a big guy doing things amll guys do. Whoever tells u this kid isnt good either 1 hates the giants or 2 smokes good weed
and on top of that Penn States OL was trash
Dude looks like a giant Devonte Freeman
 
LOL here we go again...this kid is going to be a beast in the league. I remember a thread early in the season last year where somebody was claiming Walton was light years better than Barkley. Ridiculous. You guys are kidding yourselves.

Saquon Barkley wasnt even in heisman contention but Bryce Love was... who is a 10x better running back, but Barkley is a top 2 draft pick?? lol hilarious... overrated work out warrior that doesnt show up in majority of his games played... but omg he can jump when he runs!!

Again, based on what, "measurables", his combine stats, his lackluster performances against the best teams they played less one or two?

and I chuckle at the hit behind the line stat, if there was ever a "stat" to justify a guys performance that's gotta be it.

RB's are a dime a dozen in the NFL and the two best from last years draft were taken in the third and fourth round IIRC, taking him at #2 is crazy when you need a QB.

All we need to do is figure out the OL situation and we are back.
 
We live in a tine where saying somebody is “ overrated “ or “ overhyped” is cool or contrarian.

Everyone is Skip Bayless hot take specialists.

Dude is a straight beast , one of the best prospects of the last decade. Guys 230 don’t glide like this and have that acceleration/explosion.

He also kills in the return game and receiving.

He is far from a Derwin James. Defenses schemed for him and him alone . Then mix in a bad ol.

So yeah, he disappeared at times.

Btw, im a canes / Eagles fan so if anybody would hate it would be me.

So in your opinion he'll completely transform the Giants organization? Where was that glide vs Pitt(88yds), Ga.St(47yds), NWestern(75yds) etc, etc.

Who cares if he's a beast, every player drafted can be considered "a beast"... he's not a top 2 pick, not even close. The End.
