OT: Rich Rod and VT

Not so sure I agree that it's a good hire for them. Arizona has lost almost every meaningful game this year. Seem to be going backwards.

It's a good hire for Miami. So we don't make the mistake of hiring him.

Didn't they just beat Utah?

This has been in the works. VT boosters have fully expected this and I've mentioned it on the board a number of times. I think he and Foster may make an interesting duo. And, as someone noted, Lawson should be a really good fit for Rich Rod.

So? They are 6-5 with 5 in conference losses. They got throttled by UCLA, Stanford and Washington. Also lost to wash st and USC.

4 of the wins are UTSA, Nevada and Northern Arizona and Colorado.

Still think that is a good hire?

He's great at beating mediocre teams. Not much else. It's a good hire for a program like them, but it's also good bc it means they didnt get someone better.

Now let's hope USCe announces Smart and Maryland lands Kiffin and we might luck into Herman or Fuente or something better.

That offense will fck UM up. Better fight fire with fire. Hire some conservative retread or washed up slug, and Rich Rod will tear that *** up.

Go gettum Blake

If true the Coastal just got tougher. Say what you will but Rich Rod is a good coach with a very potent offense. If Foster stays then they'll have a nasty team to contend with.

You can't easily out talent those types of offenses. And thats my fear in getting someone that needs a big talent advantage. With how offenses are run today, you're not gonna shut a high powered offense down. You may slow them down. But you better **** well have an offense that can match their output.

Its just a different game and thats another reason I want one of these Xs and Os offensive gurus with solid resumes.

Did well at WV. Absolute disaster at Michigan. Average at Arizona.

I think he's hit his ceiling. He'll probably drop a ton of points on UM, but if I was VT, I'd rather try and take a risk and lure Fuente there.

Rich Rod with Foster is a nasty combo. I don't know if he's had a DC of that caliber on his staff. But he will be in the Coastal of the ACC. His task to win is much easier. If we ***** up our hire, then VT will be dominating the Coastal and will win the ACC a few times under his tenure.

His job at VT is much easier than at Arizona in the PAC. He will do good there IMO.
