OT: Remembering 9/11

Yet nobody cares about the millions of innocent Iraqis butchered as a result of American retaliation.

Many layers to your comment.
But it would’ve helped the entire Arab world if some would’ve stepped into the 20th century.
It also would’ve helped the US to understand that trying to spread democracy to a world where honor killing by stoning your sister to death for kissing a boy makes you a town hero might not be a good idea. But after seeing what happened to Iraq and our stubbornness to leave the Middle East maybe people finally understand that it might not be a good idea to fugg with us.
Since he 70’s these dudes kept poking the resolve and patience of the US. Don’t know how old you are but remember the embassy hostages in Iran and the bombing of the marine barracks in Beirut.
We let people slide for like 30 years!!!
And we kept warning them and they kept poking.

Well thats war, if someone atttacks u attack back thats just how it is. civilians always pay the price even if it aint right. One denomination (not saying all of them but alot) wants to kill u if u disagree with them and one lets u talk free speech, give me the free speech ni99az all day that is why I love this country and never understand why people bytch about it when your allowed to bytch about it. How dope is that

I heard Our government is trying to make this a national holiday to honor all those innocent souls whom lost there lives to those murderers along with all those brave police and firemen who risked and lost there lives to save people in those towers. I think we all as Americans should demand that it be a holiday of national remembrance to pay respects to those lost souls. Never forget 9-11 is no different then never forget Pearl Harbor and never forget the Alamo. Those three foreign attacks on our sole will alway live in infamy. God bless all of those Americans! 🇺🇸🙏

Who from Iraq attacked us? Do u really still believe the weapons of mass destruction lies.
Your right they didnt have ****, but no matter what anyone says aint no one gun make me hate my own **** country I was raised in. This **** gave me everything the good and bad I still think with all the bad this is the best country in the world right now. And I was picked on chased down and labeled by racist corrupt Police and erthing and iwouldnt trade this **** for nada, still love this muhfukin country and thats that. End of discussion

The cold fact is that Saddam had been dlcking us and the UN around since 91 when we decided not to pursue their army into Iraq when we forced them from Kuwait. We know they had WMDs. Every bit of it was inventoried, logged, and tagged for disposal--a disposal process that we and the UN were to supervise and confirm. Right after 9/11 when we wanted to inspect that process, as per our legal right under UN 1491, they tried to play the shell game and say they didn't know where the shlt was. It was a very wrong time to be doing both that and offering rewards to the families of the hijackers and other terrorists.

Revisionist historians want to paint us in the wrong because we never found the bulk of what we were looking for ignore the fact that we were never supposed to have to look. The dismantlement and disposal of their WMD program was supposed to be transparent and open to inspection.

If you have never served, then shut your mouth. If you served and never had to actually pull a trigger bc your life was in jeopardy, shut your mouth. Innocence being killed is a tragedy of every conflict, a fact as old as time. People do care. War is terrible. Having been a person that had to take life in different theaters of operation, it is never taken lightly that you have to kill someone. I saw some pretty horrible things overseas, but don't think for a second that we are heartless barbarians. The bad guys I killed, I'm at peace with and don't lose sleep over. The poor innocent people caught in the middle, that's another story. Surely, you have never seen in person the result of an ******* tossing acid in a teenage girls face bc she was just trying to go to school to get educated. Surely, you have never seen in person little kids blown to chunks of flesh when they attended an opening ceremony for a new primary school and some evil person decided to set off a car bomb at the event. Iraqis have killed way more Iraqis than we ever could during our time in Iraq.

Remembering 9/11 and disagreeing with what happened after that day aren't mutually exclusive.

I was in basic training when it happened, wearing the uniform as I type this. Closing in on the end of a career in the military and I feel a bunch of different ways about what happened that day and every day since. Some good, some bad. 17 years in the military and I've known 4 weeks of not being in a state of war throughout my whole career. There will be 18 year old kids enlisting next year who will serve in the same war as their parents, wrap your mind around that for a second.

But no matter how I feel about all of that, I will always pay my respects to those we lost on 9/11.

The world isn't all just black or white no matter how much some of you want it to be. The sooner you realize this the sooner you'll you'll stop being such a ****.

This right here. Not sure why this thread turned so political all of the sudden. We’re just honoring those who lost their lives. Thank you for your service, sir.

Do you not realize that Iraq had nothing to do with attacking us on 9/11? Literally nothing?
