OT: Penn State Alum Letter To Dreadlocked Player

But they marvel at His $h!t all day...
View attachment 98931

Kinda funny (but not surprising) if one actually wants to explore any cultural significance to Murica involving long hair on men too. You'd think someone in their 70's would be wayyyyy more offended by any hippie style hair on a white kid vs a black kid with dreadlocks as it wasn't the dreadlocked kid spitting on Vietnam vets.

But even as dumb a thought process as that would be to apply in 2019 it's still too generous to apply to people with clearly racist/racial tendencies.

We even see people in this thread that reflexively rushed to give this clown the benefit of the doubt. Then it comes out that he's clearly anti-Muslim. Then it comes out that he just doesn't want his players looking like someone from Miami....

Even I initially wavered about if the players should've blown him up and posted his name. Now I say drag him and his family as they obviously allowed him to do this kind of stuff publicly for years.

And HERE WE GOOOOOO....

-In an interview with the Tribune-Democrat posted Tuesday, 1966 Penn State graduate David Petersen said making a racial or cultural statement "was not the intent at all. I would just like to see the coaches get the guys cleaned up and not looking like Florida State and Miami guys."

FSU & Miami guys look the same as most players around the country! PSU fans get this attitude due to the years under Paterno when everyone was sold a bill of goods about what a “clean” program he ran, they looked more clean cut, were better than anyone else etc. We all know how that turned out with the Sandusky debacle that they covered up for years. Guy is living in the past but don’t see anything racist in comments.

wow... didn’t see that coming. Self loathing racist fwiw

That ended up being wishful thinking by the always grounded in reality Penn State boards. This apparently is Ol' Dave:

Believe it or not. A LOT of fans, with university degrees, share the same RIGHT-WING MENTALITY as this Penn. St. graduate! And no MAJOR conference program is immune to this type CRAP!!!!!!!!! And here I thought it was the 21ST CENTURY. Go figure. Nevertheless, I give this MYOPIC Ninny Lion fan respect for expressing his opinions and all that.

And you're probably his FIRST COUSIN, too! " No blatant racist comments. " Now that's fresh. hUh

It's typical.

A lot of Football fans for whatever reason harbor very extreme views about the players they watch every weekend, it's a really bizarre dichotomy of hating the same people you want to entertain you.

The fact this old crusty ******* felt the need to take the time out to write a letter specifically to one player & felt he had the right to try & tell him how he should look just goes to show just how backwards & bigoted some people really are.

Think about it, this mf'er really wrote a letter to a kid he does not know at all & essentially told him you need change your physical appearance in order to appease ME because I'm uncomfortable with who you are & how you look. The ****** audacity Smfh.

I'm a natural as well & have had locks since I was in middle school, it's apart of our culture & representation of our strength. We shouldn't have to explain to anyone why we lock our hair the way we do. The reason why it bothers some people is because it looks rebellious to them, in their mind they only want to see Black people being presented to them in a way they can accept, when we're not looking the way they feel we should they take it as a sign of disrespect because it's all about control.

The players aren't their property, if a "fan" is really that bothered they need to find something else to do & STFU trying to tell young men what to do or how to look.

Penn. St. graduate probably calls those players " COLORED " still.

if she was born in Africa and then moved to America and became a citizen, then yes, she is a an African-American.
Not everybody likes this. She said it as kind of a joke. She herself was not a racist. She absolutely adored Nelson Mandela and lived for a while with a Black guy once she came to the U.S.

I haven't read through all the posts so I don't know if somebody already said this, but I read somewhere else that the PSU fan who complained about the hair was himself Black.
