OT: Penn State Alum Letter To Dreadlocked Player

I had a friend, a blonde woman from Capetown, who called herself an African-American. More as a joke. Incidentally, she lived with a Black guy for a while and loved Mandela.

But what was she other than an African? And since she was going to apply for citizenship here, she aspired to be an American.

By the way, I see guys around with those locks that seem to be 2-3 feet long. Aren't they a lot of work?

if she was born in Africa and then moved to America and became a citizen, then yes, she is a an African-American.

WE ARE.. talking about Penn State, here. Same group of folks that defended Joe Pa and their Administration when they all denied all knowledge of having a serial pedophile on staff for decades.
Penn State should have been burned to the ground after that, the entire university. Football is never more important than children’s safety. PSU should always be associated with allowing child rape forever. It’s inexcusable.

Makes me wish I could grow hair, let alone dreadlocks.

This fanbase certainly has a penchant for embarrassing themselves. Perhaps the player should've been the bigger person and not exposed the idiot's name but I don't really blame him. I'm glad our oldhead fans/alumni generally comport themselves properly.

This is thsy guy that's says I'm not racist I have black friends

while i fully acknowledge that racists are still running rampant in alot of places in this country, that letter reads like it was written by an internet troll and its obvious as ****.

Cmon boomers.

There are good ol boy PSU fans that dislike black people? Nooooooo. You can find people just like ol Davey Petersen at every school in the SEC. Lots of em!

"Explain to me how this isn't racist."

Where does it mention any single thing relating to any race? Dude has an opinion about what he thinks is a stupid haircut. Any race can have dreadlocks. Beta victim mentality.

The better argument is about individualism and narcissism in team sports. Cant stand seeing all the players on miami more concerned with their expensive outlandish outfits they wear to the game, then with actually playing well.

Even racists aren’t dumb enough to come out dropping n-words. They try do it more slick like this dude but it’s not fooling anyone with an IQ above room temperature

Why did he single out s black player?
I’m sure pedophile state has white dudes with long hair as well. But he went out of his way to single out a dude with dreadlocks. If he was concerned about “clean cut” he should’ve wrote a letter to the coach or the AD. Don’t know if you white or black. But in today’s politically divisive climate we are quick to either call something racist or victim mentality.
Yes plenty of crazy extreme talk of any little thing being racist. But also a lot of quick lashing out of someone playing the victim or race card.
I think the dude who wrote the letter is racist and doesn’t know it. The reason is their are levels of racism.
To a some non black persons being racist means not wanting to be friends with or work or live next to a black person. But there are levels and degrees of it.
So while this person likely doesn’t wear a white robe; he took the time and energy to write to a black player to change his style of hair because according to his standard he shouldn’t have that. But didn’t point out any white players with long hair. The reason is that men with long hair has been around since the 60’s and 50 years later it is socially acceptable. But a black man with dreads for some reason isn’t.
As a former Marine I understand grooming standards that are placed on everyone when they voluntarily join an organization. Take the Yankees for example in sports. No one is calling them racist cause it’s applies to everyone on the team. Also I’ll shave my eyebrows if they want me to for the money they pay out.
