OT PCL Surgery

Random question, anyone in here had to do PCL surgery before? Mentioned in other thread but I blew my knee out 2 weeks ago hiking in Yellowstone, just got my surgery done yesterday. My surgeon was the Dolphins team doctor for 15 years, so hes definitely experienced, was wondering what the road to
recovery looks like for a 30 year old.
WebMD says post-surgical rehab is 6-12 months.

Lot of info on web. There are different surgical techniques. Just Google it.

I might lose bladder control if one got that close.

Pretty much at that distance, if a bear wants to fūck you up, he’s gonna fūck you up and there’s not a **** thing you can do about it.

I’m not about to go out like Timothy Treadwell LOL

So is that bear spray supposed to stop them in their tracks?

Yea if I’m not mistaken it’s like 10x the strength of the most powerful peppermint spray, you’re supposed to not look at then in their eyes make noises and not act scared. Once they get within 20-40 yards spray for 1 second and when that hits them they 99% back the he’ll off, you just do the same never run. Typically I find if you don’t give them a reason to mess with you they won’t, I go shark diving al the time same rules apply don’t act scared and they’ll leave you alone.

**** yea totally agree, angels landing was life changing, and the narrows is sick as well.

If you can get a permit, the Subway is definitely worth it as well. Not quite as amazing as those two, but the lack of crowds is a huge plus.

Partially tore my PCL a few years back playing flag football smh. Doctor told me that is was extremely uncommon to do because it usually happens alongside torn ACL, meniscus, MCL. Best of luck on your recovery.

I’ve heard bro! So before I blew out my knee my plan was to hit Vegas and Zion again in October. Zion is out of the picture now unfortunately.

My next big hike will be next year, getting a permit to hike halfdome. That’s how I’ll know I’m back to normal.

Good luck on the rehab! Always good to have goals like these in mind as you put in the hours to get back to it.

**** yea man I’m too young to let this **** effect me, I have a busy travel schedule already planned so nothing to do but he the rehab done and live my life. Going to the game on the 24th, in 4 weeks hitting Greece, Budapest and Copenhagen, October Vegas, and November italy lol. Maybe throw in a Cuba trip in December.

PCL rehab isn't bad. Couple months. Isolated PCL tears usually dont even go to surgery. NFL players with isolated PCL tears are back to play in 1-2 months without surgery.
