Who was the last unsuccessful coach at Wisconsin?

Another question: Who was the last coach who had success at Wisconsin AND another school?
This right here, I don’t hear much about bilema, I want to say he’s a assistant on the patriots

all excellent points...the rope is frayed for sure

MSU admin might try to scapegoat him for offering players with highly questionable backgrounds. I posted an ESPN article about him a few days ago, but little response, understandably.

Some of this recent batch of players they were developing seemingly hit a ceiling a while ago and just...never got better.

Recruting players to East Lansing, MI while competing against Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Wisconsin cannot be easy.

Plus Notre Dame...

Just spanked Mich State so hard it looked like Dantonio was using our bowl gameplans against them.

Did anyone predict that Chryst was going to do this well with the Badgers when they hired him back from Pitt? I remember thinking he was a jag corch and it was an underwhelming hire.

Dude is 4-0 in bowls (with an Orange Bowl win), 30-8 in conference and 48-12 overall.

Pretty impressive for a very unassuming personality. Michigan would probably kill for those numbers.
You misspelled Jim Leonhard. Best D-Coordinator

Chryst was OC at Whisky from 2005-2011, and played QB for them 86-88. The Badgers went 1-10 in 1988, and lost 23-3 at #1 Miami in week three of that season. Couldn’t find a box score to see if he was the starting QB or not. The game was the week after the Cane’s 31-30 comeback win at Michigan, so maybe the team was understandably a little flat.

He's coming off an 8-5 season and hasn't won the Big 10 yet, I think their admin is going to keep their pants on.

He’s 48-12 as HC at Wisconsin, 4-0 in bowl games. His 8-5 record last season was preceded by three seasons combined record 34-7. Consecutive Big 10 West titles in 2016 and 2017. Both losses in Big 10 CG were by 7 points or less to PSU and OSU. He seems like a lifer (he was even born in Madison, WI), but their Admin should recognize a top coach when they see, and have, one.

He should be a lifer, he's not going to have that kind of success anywhere else. He's the 9th highest paid coach in the Big 10, if he's half the coach people think he is, he'd be easy as **** to pry away (as Bielema and Anderson were).

Neither Bielema or Anderson were Wisconsin alumni. The former left for $EC money, and Anderson split because he was frustrated by Wisconsin’s academic requirements.

Chryst’s salary was recently increased to $4.1M, so life in Madison is good.
