Defensive coordinator always gets the blame but some of it has to go on some of the other assistants as well.several years back ou had a good defense under Stoops and Venerables makes wonder who was responsible for it being good.good bet know is ou is missing Venerables.Don't know why we'd want or need stoops if he can't coach a decent defense doubt he could help our special teams.

He should be keep for those duties but ST are 1/3 of the game and we use to be superb at them. He sucks at it. Fire someone else and hire a top ST coach if we want another NC. Is there a coach on the staff that really doesn't belong and is merely taking up space?

What I'm saying is when Venerables was there with Stoops the ou defense was good.it hasn't been good since Venerables left for Clemson.so it makes you wonder if Stoops got credit he didn't deserve.common man everybody here should know that.

We had this conundrum in the off-season & fate provided an opportunity to fix our problem. "NCAA to allow 10th asst coach in '18". It almost felt like a gift from the heavens. Finally, an experienced ST coach is coming.... then we hired a GA LB coRch with no experience. Amateur hour.

i legit was ****ed off. I said there goes our chance to add some seasoning...nope lets promote a guy already on staff to coach a "striker" position with 2 players. Completely confusing actually..but im guessing Richt is gun shy after Pruitt had him shook those years. So he just wants guys that are comfortable with each other that wont shake things up.

OU loaded on offense but an article said they lacked recruiting on the defensive side - and it shows. For years, that conference plays ****** D.

I seem to remember him saying almost as much. Something about the group getting along so well and how hard to achieve that.

The striker position has excelled this year with Finley holding it down and guess who coaches him.... Patke.

The defense is ranked #2 in total defense but yeah ur right it’s “amateur hour” @ilovelamp51 lol?? We should’ve hired a Special teams coach instead right guysm.
