Great lyricist as well...
Underated, we can debate this till the cows come home. Neil PEART the best and will be MISSEDPeart was probably technically better than Ward... but Ward plays exactly how I want drums to sound. Then again the 1st album I ever owned was Black Sabbath Black Sabbath and I bought a bass and learned every bassline, then a guitar and learned every riff and most solos.
RIP to an absolute legend.
he could play 3/4 time with his hands and 7/8 time with his feet and some drummers of renown can’t do either togetherIf you want a good laugh, go to youtube and check out people's reactions to their first time hearing him play. Dude could do things that most couldn't dream of even considering doing on drums.
Ward definitely doesn’t get enough credit, he influenced a great many metal drummers. One of my favorite drummers of all time next to Bill Ward(Black Sabbath)

Sorry to differ. The only reason why john Bonham is accepted as a top drummer, it's popularity. Simple as that. PEART, MOON, COPELAND ECT. BONHAM is good but not like MOON AND PEART.
Sooooo many Great Drummers...Ginger Baker...Bonham...Peart...Kirk Cameron (Soundgarden)...etc...But what I watched Peart do twice, was a notch above the rest...Bonham's career was also cut short, and he was really progressing his sound as a drummer even at the time of his death. Would have been interesting to see what his influence would have been with another 4 decades. Moon died early also but he was kinda fading at that time. Not knocking Moon at all, he probably had the best raw talent. With Peart they are my top 3. Peart was a technician, a true master of his craft.
Sad day indeed. I learned how to play the drums from that machine!!! May his drum rolls live on in Heaven.Sad day for anyone that grew up listening to Rush. One of the best to ever bang the skins.
The tear gas showWithout dating myself I saw them in the Hollywood Sportatorium moving pictures tour. Think it was 1983. **** that was a long time ago when the Canes were up and coming and kicking *** and taking numbers.
