OT my family is now homeless

I couldn't believe the footage I saw of Mexico Beach. Man, I spent a lot of time down there growing up and it saddens me to see so many people lose their homes.

Thoughts and prayers to everyone in the area.
 
Sorry to hear. I hope they have insurance. If so, have them use a credit card if they have no cash and keep receipts for reimbursement from the insurance company. Also, appears you live in TN from the Go Fund ME page.

Your story sounds like mine, after Wilma.
I have a Disc. 1000 pages of legal verbiage going both ways.
Never had my day in court, SF is worse than the Storm.
I own my home outright, and now self insure. 5k a year into my own disaster fund..

I do live in Tennessee. It's my parents who lost their home. They will have to come stay with us there is nowhere for them to go. They lost everything.

YEP ,I agree but I have about $65K left on my equity loan ( paying extra to pay off early) and if I didn't have that I would have taken 1/2 of that each month and put in a CD or something that is pretty liquid to access. and be self insured.

I figure 3-4 years and I'll knock this loan out.

Everyone watch the Canes game for the State Farm commercials and think of all of us including Fla panhandle and throughout the spoutheast who has SF.

I tell my lawyer there is such a thing as pain and suffeing , he says NOT to State Farm there a large bank with share holders whom want profits there goal is NOT to pay and keep deductibles high and to "SHORT" pay in everything if they must.

Can we keep this about Pcity and not your own personal grievances. Many people have had insurance issues that have lived in S Florida or areas hit by hurricanes.

I’m in the same boat brother...left last Thursday for vacation and now can’t even get back to my place. Finally got word that my roommate and dogs are ok.

Stationed at Tyndall so I probably won’t be back in the area for awhile since they’re not allowing us there.
