But a few short years ago they told me Bobby Jindal was going to lead this country out of the darkness.
Take a look at Alaska and North Dakota's budget shortfalls...The revenue projections were all based on a higher crude oil prices...When Saudi Arabia (whom I gave up a nice portion of my youth protecting) decided to pump like mad and drive higher cost producers (i.e. shale frackers) to near bankruptcy. If you are going to blame Jindal, then you better blame Putin for Russia's severe budget woes...Just don't do it too loud or you may find yourself poisoned and very much dead.
clearly high energy prices fueled their spending but if you do a little research there was also a pretty large tax cut that is widely credited with being the cause of the budget deficits they have now.
If you do a little research and look at my other post, you will notice the absolute absurdity I alluded to regarding Louisiana's higher ed set up; just like the political shenanigans of Florida Polytechnic University (the big football-looking thing you see on I-4 near Lakeland), Louisiana has too many state univesities serving the same areas. LA Tech in Ruston is only 40 minutes down the road from UL Monroe and LA Tech students take classes at Grambling (great niece is a Lady Techster and she does it too) just 10 minutes from LA Tech.
In New Orleans, UNO and Southern University of New Orleans literally sit right next to each other. This is a structural problem that isn’t Bobby Jindal’s fault; Democrat Governor Blanco didn't fix it either and she also cut taxes:

Plenty of blame to go around, not just Jindal.
