OT- Kiffin open to return to Tennessee

Ol' Laney should pull the move where he blames his now ex-wife for how things went down the first time in Knoxville.

"No no no, it was all that ***** that dreamed of living in godforsaken California. Me? I'm no librul! I NEVER wanted to leave Rocky Top! Forgive me?"

I live in Knoxville. Most Vols would take him back. Currie, the sitting AD, would not. He was on the committee who hired Kiffin the first go round and was the only one who voted against bringing him on back then.

... a lot can change when one's program has continued sucking since back then. Not to mention, LOTS of openings this off-season—which means a lot of program are going to be left with second and third choices. Translation; John Currie would arguably vote differently this time.

No! Nope! Not a microcosm. Kiffin accomplished nothing at Tennessee .

I just don't see how Kiffin's 1 year at Tennessee and 7-6 record is related at all the Butch' situation. Butch loaded our team with the best roster in college football history (after years of sanctions) and left for the NFL (because we were CHEAP) after an 11-1 season. Wanting to replicate what Butch did at the end of his career at UM by our fans makes sense. His formula worked. Still to this day, I blame our admin (not Butch) for offering him an underappreciated salary.

Tennessee fans wanting Kiffin back is absurd.

Thats hard to believe, considering he left like a thief in the night and the students were tearing stuff up when he left.

I used to think like you, and then the exact same Cavs fans who burned Lebron's jerseys welcomed him back with open arms.
