OT: Jedd getting the interim gig at UCLA

I think Chip Kelly about to pull up.

They could outspend Florida for him, put him back in the Pac-12.

Would be a solid hire.

UCLA is notoriously cheap. I doubt they’re winning any bidding wars. They’ll have to hope Kelly would rather coach in the Pac12 where they play no defense than have his ceiling getting whipped by Sabag every year and having the delusional UF fans run him out of town in three years.

Not this time, just like Miami with Richt.

They are doing a $12 million buyout. You don’t do that and then go cheap. They have big boys involved this round. They are going to pay. That said they still might get him cheaper than UF would for all the reasons stated. But it won’t be for lack of money.

This.

Saban's never outcoached CK, on any level.
He doesn’t need to.

P. S. You guys still think Kelly is some genius?

I do not see Kelly ever wanting to coach in the ACC or SEC. He would routinely have to play against defenses that have a pulse. UCLA would be a perfect fit for him

Lots of UCLA guys in executive positions at the agency representing Chipster.

SEC style defenses are the answer to stopping Chip Kelly's offense and he knows that. Teams that are too big up front for his more athletic teams that he builds around stamina. He would be stupid to go to Gaynesville and try to compete with Saban and Smart every year.

If the money is decently close I'd go to UCLA and recruit LA and compete against the conference that has no stout defenses and honestly most teams offenses are underwhelming as well.

If they're throwing out that money to get rid of Mora, they're ready to spend on a real coach.

I don't agree with this. That Oregon team had Auburn beat if not for a fluke play where everyone thought the RB was down and he runs for another 40 yards into fg range.

Hypothetical:

UCLA goes for Chip. Nebraska hands the keys to the state to Frost. UF has to go for Mullen. UT swings and misses on Fuente. And goes after...Butch Davis.

only some Miami fans are enamoured with Butch at this point, as great as he was and despite the good job this year. I’ve not seen butch on one list for any of the openings out there.

It was tongue-in-cheek. Was only trying to highlight how I think Tennessee will be left without any of the top targets this cycle.

Someone mentioned Miles. I had forgotten about him. He seems to be approaching Butch level of retread at this point. I suppose UT could potentially get Fuentes but if I were him, I'd stay put.

Florida is a terrible job right now. They are at the bottom of the sec east. Roster decimated by injuries and suspensions. No quarterback to build around. Delusional fan base. Will have to recruit against Richter. They ain't got no swag, they ain't got no chains, and they definately won't be gettin no rings. No smart top coach is headed there. But he'll isn't that what fraud baum said about the U. Who knows.

You mean:
Miami style defenses

SEC style is the biggest guys you can find on the DL. Miami style is the big guys that can run in the front 7 and the smaller guys (unless you're Sean Taylor) that can hit on the backend. That's even more effective vs his offense. Just saying he has to play those big DLs every week. They won't schedule Miami often enough for us to scare him off. We would though without a doubt if we were on the schedule annually
