OT: Jam Pony Express

Ya, no one from new york is riding around in a piece of schit 1960/70s car and calling it a donk. People from Cali to NY are not making southern style records. Bruh is not a southern term we have been using it since I was a little kid. I guess I'll give you fvck ni99a because I did hear southern dudes saying it first, but you already copied all of new yorks slang. Gat, strap, knocked off, whack, walk, B, blick I can go on for days.

I will give you southern rap took off, but thats because of Atlanta and NO, not ******* Miami lmao. I don't even think a Miami rapper has ever even put out a multi platinum selling album. LMAO.
Not so fast, my friend. NY ni&&@$ and the like (up north cats) have ALWAYS gotten their slang from the south. Y’all ni&&@$ come down south to visit grandma and see your cousins and pick up the verbiage. Then y’all take that **** back to NY and because you had the exposure (media, radio, etc.), it was disseminated nationally and thus, view as originating from NY, etc.. Notice how the fall of NY rap coincides perfectly with the explosion of social media? Now everyone can disseminate info on the same platform, at the same rate. It’s no coincidence. But It has ALWAYS been that way. Facts. Up north ni&&@$ will always view southern ni&&@$ as “country”!and “slow” and southern ni&&@$ will always view up north ni&&@$ as “soft” and “corny”. It was what it was and is what it is...

Man I used to rock all the jam pony remixes back in 98-00! He partnerned with White Dog after I had just moved to Orlando in 2000, I remember seeing him there. He had a box Chevy Gd out with Jam Pony Express across the back glass; those were good and crazy times....lol

LoL, "use too" man i play JPE till this day, it dont stop, i keep a JPE cd in the truck, one of my favorites right here when you wanna chill and bring it on in:

Lol, bringing back memories of riding to the 45th Street flea market to cop 5 for da dub. Banging with my 3 12" JL Audio W3s and a PPI 2350. Pushed 1400 continuous watts and hit 155 decibels, surprised I can still hear...lol

I never realized how localized the whole "Miami Bass" scene was until I moved to Orlando. We would throw house parties in college and of course we'd have to play some DJ Uncle Al, Splack Pack, 2Live, DJ Laz, Gucci Crew, all the classics. Man, nobody up there knew any of that ****. I mean, I'm a white Hispanic dude who grew up in the suburbs and even there we still had the right party music. How the **** else were you supposed to get all the chicks to shake their asses?

Those "piece of ****" 70's cars we ride in down here cost more than them financed Benzes/Beemers yall covet up North, son!

People from Cali and NY aren't making Southern style records?! Are you serious?
EVERY FVCKIN' HIT from NY has a Southern bounces to it now-a-days.

Go follow Rutgers dude!

white dawg was loosely connected with Jam Pony you are right. I remember that..and had a few Jam Pony tapes early 2000s i got out of orlando.

For dade the mic checkin was Uncle Al and Boda Lover. But no one did it like Jam Pony foreal thats a Broward thing...gotta credit that
Loosely connected is not IN THE GROUP. lol

Oh schit I didn't know you knew about the A. Ya you talking about R.O.C crew Raised on Cleveland Rich off Crime. That's his crew, but they rock with the bigger MDC, ABG, and SMM. He also got blessed in with IFGB and brought that set to Atlanta because hes always throwin up the F now.

I use to live in Atlanta. I knew he was off of Cleveland an ran with them. Them boys was targeting stuff **** they were the reason the Jarvis Crittendon (nba player locked for murder) thing went down. He also grew up with Pee Wee Long Way who is rollin 20s crip.

Word that is how you know. Only reason I know is because of my cousin. Ya they were a small crew, but they were thorough. People knew not to fvck with them. Ya him and Peewee signed to brick squad around the same time. Peewees crew is huge though the 20s in Atlanta go hard as ****. Everyone knows peewee is legit. He never fronts in interviews either. Never incriminates himself.

LMFAO. Not even close. NY rap falling coincided with all of our guys getting into their late 30s. Nothing to do with social media. Up north we view you southern dudes as soft as ****. Your gangs are tiny. You have no organization. The gangs make no money. You may think were corny, but you were copying Harlems style for the longest. YOu guys were still wearing tall teals and long jean shorts up until the late 2000s lmao. I remember going down to Miami the first time and thinking wtf these dudes are still dressing like its 5 years ago.

The southern gangs wouldn't last 5 weeks in NYC. They would get busted or ran out of the city by the crews in that time. I know a ton of NY dudes that moved down to GA and NC and put in work down there because there is less surveillance and the country dudes aren't smart or tough enough to compete.

That slang is BS too. No one from NY wants to use country slang.

LMFAO are you serious? So you are comparing the dudes with the most expensive donks to the guys financing bimmers? The guys financing schitty BMW 3 series and 5 series are the equivalent of some Miami dude driving around in a 5k donk that barely runs.

The real OGs are driving around in actual dope cars not E and C class and 3 and 5 series.

Maybe I should say YOU are copying our cars because Rick Ross calls it Aston martin and maybach Music and NY rappers have been putting Astons and maybachs in their videos since the 80/90s.

Kodak even has a line were he says "if it aint foreign then its boring".

No they don't. If you actually listen to up north hits from the north and then listen to the old school songs. Its just NYC beats, but made with the modern equipment. Same thing with west coast. The only city that swagger jacked is Detroit. There beats are basically just sped up west coast beats.
Look at the old 80s and 90s southern music like The geto Boys and 2 live crew. Those beats are MUCH different than what 21 savage and Rick ross style beats are.

Go follow what ever school you played for. I love UM, but Im not going to sit here and act like the city of Miami can compare to NYC. Theres a reason is called the greatest city in the world.

Nah believe me I know. I lived in Miami for close to 5 years when I was down there. And then lived in NYC the rest of my time. But he was talking about rappers in NYC and dudes up north copying Miamis car trend.

You are right most people up in NYC don't own cars. I don't own one either lol. Its a lot cheaper just to uber everywhere since it costs a 1grand a month for a parking spot at your apartment plus you are going to spend a few grand a month on parking it when you drive it.

That said though. If you go to some of the real expensive NYC blocks you are going to see doper vehicles than the real expensive Miami neighborhoods like Star island or whatever its called. NYC has more billionaires than any other city in the world.

I wasn't even talking about all that though. I was talking about rappers and in the hood. You aren't going to be seeing the billionaires in Miami driving around in Donks. Imagine Frost pulling up too UM in a donk lol.

I was saying even the low level hustlers in Miami are going to be whipping around in Bimmers and Benzs. The official low level hustler car in Harlem is a white 6 series. That is the first car every dealer gets when they make their first million.

The big bosses they are pulling up to the PJs in Rolls Royce trucks, Phantoms, Bentleys, Ferraris. The one dude that ran my PJ used to pull up in another 500k foreign everyday of the week. The dudes ran my building for the past 40 years. Hes not going anywhere. Its different up north we got black crews that operate like the russians. The mobs don't tax us or try and move in. They know whatsup.

Alright here's some perspective from someone who spent 30 years in South Florida and 6 in NYC:

Clubs? South FL wins hands down.
Rap? NYC wins and it's not even debatable. Don't get me wrong, I love 2 Live Crew, the whole Miami Bass genre, freestyle music, and all that 808 bass that Miami is known for. But if we're talking pure rap, it's like comparing the Miami Hurricanes to FIU.
Chicks? South FL wins. See, South Florida chicks know that it's hot as **** 9, 10 months out of the year. So they better **** well look good or how are they supposed to compete with other women? Here in NYC, you've got fat chicks that think they can hide that **** under a big *** coat half the year. Spoiler alert: they can't.

Blogs/texting came right on time for you, you probably talk loud as ****, and be like Huh, WHAT YOU SAY, LOL, i see you was trying to knock pictures off the wall, i know you had em rattling at least 2 to 4 mins before you got there!

Correction, rap music, as a whole, you can give it to N.Y., but our music has 99% of the time been party music, we was never trying to out rap nobody, we made party music for the ladies, #1 party music Miami gone always get that hands down!

I agree. The Miami Bass genre was dope and many beats today have their roots from it. 2 Live Crew, Gucci Crew II, Maggotron, DJ Laz, etc, all that stuff will still get the party popping to this day.
