Here is Ivins statement, right from the source today- there is clearly a lot of speculation on everyone's part that simply isn't true:
I have done everything in my power to give the kids at MNW exposure. I paid to attend a game last season and ended up sitting in the stands shooting photos from the 15th row. I drove up to Orlando on my own dime to watch them play in the state finals. I pushed for Terrence Lewis to get a high ranking. I pushed to get Romello Brinson and Kahlil Brantley graded as soon as possible because schools were using that to negatively recruit against the Hurricanes. I have also recommended Marcus Fleming to the Adidas All-American Game multiple times.
I however am simply done with the administration over there. I have nothing against the kids and coaches there. I was invited to cover the scrimmage. I was told I would be given field access. I did nothing wrong. I will cover them as best I can from a distance, but I'm not going to try to attend anymore MNW events and be talked down to by the school's athletics director and principal before having police escort me off property.
You can say I have bad character all you want, but at the end of the day I was almost arrested for simply trying to do my job.
Like many of you, I follow a few different sites. I have personally always found his reporting to be fair, conservative and without any kind of personal agenda. Many don't like the fact he doesn't project or speculate but I like that he is conservative. If he says he was invited with sideline access, that's what he expected. I am sure there are those who won't agree.
There seems to be some sort of disconnect at MNW between the coaches, AD and administration. If not that, then it seems to me there is some agenda, as a few of you said, to embarrass and harass him for some reason.
