Send it to David Petraeus
It is time to remove the names of traitors like Benning and Bragg from our country’s most important military installations.

You probably should delete this☝. Gen(ret) Davey P needs to sit this one out and shut the f[]ck up.
While zero doubt he wrote the book (actually no kidding) on how to effectively fight asymmetric (I know a big word) insurgency with modern armed forces (and p[]ssy statecraft as well....vomit), he is a terrible role model for the renaming installations--and LTG(ret) Hertling can shut the f[]ck up as well.
In fact, like most of his career, he is displaying blatant opportunism for the mere
appearance (not actual) of moral leadership.
Let's review shall we?
He NEVER ONCE spoke out (same as Hertling AND Colin Powell) when it came to renaming installations on active duty--and REMAINED silent as Dir, CIA. In fact, you can find numerous speeches where he (and again Hertling, et al) went on and on about, "so great to be back at Ft Bragg/Hood/Wood/Lee/etc. This base has such an amazing heritage for all you great soliders to learn from here today, blah blah blah blah..."
When Petraeus
COULD HAVE made a difference as a flag officer, he like Hertling et al, kept holier than thou trap shut very, VERY tight because, well, if I speak out, then I might not get that next star!".
F[]cking absolute moral cowardice on this issue.
And I'll gona step further on Rico Suave Davey...
while I don't know the exact number of GOMRs he issued to SNCOs or officers for adultery (effectively ending officer's careers that instant), I guarantee you it was more than one. I guess that massive hypocrisy didn't cross his mind while as a 4-star he was playing hide the battalion guidon with Paula Broadwell. A scandal that rightly so splashed across the news--know how happy the troops were about that? Yeah, yeah, yeah he got CAUGHT while Gen(ret) serving as Dir, CIA, but in the investigation it came out his inappropriate behavior started while he was still active duty. Utter f[]cking garbage.
So, we have another example of one group so desperately seeking the "legitimacy" of "an important person's" opinion while not knowing or caring about his deeply flawed character that, in the end, provides far more hypocrisy than gravity to the issue at hand.
SMH.
So again, Davey P is a complicated cat. War fighters 100 years from now will study his doctrine and TTPs on counter-insurgency...however that doesnt mean his opinion, and cowardly and now so conveniently provided, should amount to any influence in the debate on renaming.
FUN FACT1: Ft Rucker is the only Confederate named installation that bears the moniker of someone below the rank of general officer (he was a colonel)
FUN FACT2: I purposefully left this for the end to see how many douches take the bait and start writing die, die, die EC is a racist! before reading all the way through. I firmly believe those installations should be renamed to anyone who positively contributed to the war fighter community through either victory, scholarship, or deeds regardless of other personal failings. Toodles.
