OT I need the board to help settle an argument....

If UiF was undefeated they would be ranked 2 at this moment heading into the SEC championship game and they would toting it as the real NCAA championship game. ESPN would be going nuts over this making the biggest game in college football history. Anytime your friend wants to make bets tell him to make them with me. He seems like the guy who would take Middle Ten State -3 against Bama on the road.
 
last undefeated sec team to not get a title shot was what auburn in 03? that will never happen again, especially now that there is 4 playoff slots

Your buddy is an idiot. Any major team who goes undefeated in the regular season and beats Alabama in is conference championship game is going to be in the playoffs.

The Gators have sucked this year, yet somehow managed to win the garbage SEC East division. The Gators ranked LAST in the SEC in total offense, last in total rushing, and 11th in passing. Their 24.1 points per game is 104th best in the FBS.

Unfortunately, nobody will remember the above facts and Gators staff will tell recruits that they have made it to the SEC championship.

As long as Clemson holds on to beat VT, Miami is projected to possibly play West Virginia, Florida, or UGA in a bowl game. Even though WV is ranked higher than UGA and Florida, I believe it would be better for us if we beat an SEC team, albeit a mediocre one. Let Alabama destroy Florida and then we can dismantle them in a bowl game.

At that point wouldn't they be the only undefeated major conference team left? AND beat Alabama? No way they wouldn't make it. Not only would they make it, but if there was ANY doubt about them being worthy of getting in over 1 loss teams like OSU and Clemson, after beating Alabama they would jump to #1 in every poll.

I used to think that too with posts like these but then you also sadly realize that the world is comprised of a heavy majority of dolts and that the OP more than likely does know one that'd would have this argument with him. Don't think so? Tune into The SEC Network for 5 secs and you'll hear the other end of the idiocy based spectrum.
