I love florida brahs but this is getting out of hand.. this thing was projected to be a 2 yesterday and now they're calling for a 4

It was also supposed to go over the Dominican Republic. That would have severely weakened it. It stayed over the water and it’s now entering the warmest water in the Atlantic
 
Unfortunately Dorian is not cooperating with the model forecasts of intensity. That impacts the projected speed and path. It just had a drop from 970 to 946 millibars within 5 hours. That was not expected at all.

Now very possible to be Category 5 once it reaches the Florida coastline area.

Based on these new measurements many top posters on several tracking sites are expecting the late night models to shift back toward the west, and landfall.

NHC won't adjust much in the short term. That is proper. It's like a hurricane power rating. Totality not overreaction to recency.
