OT: How did FIU land two 4 star JUCOs?

So I was looking at team rankings to poke fun at FSU - realized they're only two sports ahead of FIU in recruiting ranking. Anyways, I'm not implying UM should've recruited these two guys because I didn't even look at their highlights.

FIU signed JUCO Teair Tart-Spencer who was recruited by Bama and Tayland Humphrey 4 Star JUCO DT (he was posted on about here).

Anyone have any insight on their recruiting? Are they any good? How did FIU land them?

And please once again, I'm not making any comparison to our DT recruiting nor implying we should have gone after these guys.

They signed Humphreys brother who is a questionable d1 prospect and Tart Spencer just got kicked out of 'Last Chance U'
 
Say what you want about him but he's one of the best recruiters ever.
 
Gotta remember bout JUCO: only the real ****** schools (like Bama, FSU,etc) can get a lot of those guys.

Miami has ALWAYS had issues with JUCO bc of Shalala and her uppity attitude.

And finally, Butch put more probowlers in the NFL than any college coach EVER.
 
Did the one get kicked off Last Chance U for something that they would not put into the show for whatever reason?
 
I don't understand why Miami doesn't the Juco ranks much harder to help rebuild the roster?????

Jucos have a bard time getting in here not b/c of shalala. Get a clue.
Usually, unless they are placed by UM and guided in which course to take, they have a hard time b/c often the courses they took at juco don’t transfer to UM like they do to big state schools. We don’t have phys and those courses so they don’t have the credits to transfer to UM. Stfu.

There wasn't the vitriol for Butch here before the coaching search. I think some just wanted to go in a different direction and conceived a hatred for him because they truly, and intensely didn't want him here. I think the minority of his haters were angry about him splitting town for the Browns, which is fair. Just like peoples reactions to Kirby Smarts success, some are nervous about picking the right guy again, and pro Butch stuff irks them.

The problem is that guys like continue to prop this dude up no matter what. Everyone appreciates dude and all he did for Miami but **** he’s gone, not coming back and has another job. It’s almost cult like. Every single chance y’all get, Butch this and Butch that. Then you guys act like he is flawless. You’re not allowed to say one bad thing about the dude. So ppl get tired of the Butch worship and lash out. Unfortunately, it comes off as Butch hatered.

Dean was a top JUCO kid last year at CB from a Texas JUCO

Dayall Harris the WR was a JUCO

The golden years I remember getting that super fat DT from Cali who chose us over USCw, That all world TE from Arizona who transferred out

We obviously have gone JUCO when the roster mandated it

All the responses in this thread are clueless, here's the reality:

1. 4* Teair Tart Spencer: Was an Alabama lock until he got kicked off the team at Last Chance U. That's hard to do. Lost all of his SEC offers, so only schools like FIU/FAU would take him. Huge headcase.

2. 4* Tayland Humphrey: Came as part of a package deal with his brother, 2* OL John Bolding. No major school was going to do a package deal when the good player is a Juco.

So that's the reality. FIU is taking some chances not just that Miami won't, but that literally no other P5 school won't either

There are several juco bigs that Miami coulda gone after....also a safety to replace Jobe....look at the top 100 JUCO rankings and you will see top programs picking them up every year....seems like Miami waits to late ...should be much sooner...IMO gotta make sure you have insurance in case you get burned by the divas....
