C'mon man!!!! Riley is good at getting transfers and plugging them in. He hasn't started a kid that he's recruited yet. If they didn't have Hurts, they'd be throwing a true freshman or a redshirt freshman out there and the whole Riley take would be completely different. He has a great offensive scheme and the players to execute it with the #1, #2, and #3 rated WRs in the 2019 class not including the veteran studs they have. Could Riley have the same success with a roster like a Syracuse? NO. It's about the Jimmies and the Joe's.
Houston's defense is atrocious. It was last year at #118 in giving up big plays and #119 in total defense. They still suck on defense. Hurts had all day to throw to wide open WRs. We didn't learn anything new about Hurts from the Houston game. The real question is can Hurts make the throws into tight windows when under pressure? The only test on their schedule that will answer that question is Texas.
Mayfield was a literal no body, agreed? Matter of fact, bro didn’t even have an invite to OU, he just showed up.
Kyler Murray was the No. 1 DT QB coming out, if not mistaken. Regardless, there wasn’t any tape on him while at TAM.
Houston def is atrocious, but Hurts still looked way better throwing the ball. Riley’s offense is both QB & WR friendly. The problem w OU is their def, and trust me, my former co-worker and good friend is an avid OU fan. They are still mourning Venables leaving. They blame Stoops for staying one year too long.
