please go take a listen to Mos Def, Tribe called Quest, and Nas
then see if you can still call Drake a "rapper"
Talib Kweli, amongst a few others, would like a spot on your list.

Nas is one of my all one favorites. Yes they were all good.
The game has changed though and today's rappers aren't all that great- Drake stands out. So unlike the rest. He actually is really good if listen. A lot of people dislike him simply because he is different: he didn't have the same struggles a lot of rappers did and so he raps about other things. Last I checked, growing up in the struggle isn't a requirement to be a great rapper. The dudes word play and the pictures he paints with his music are at the top of today's game.

Drake isn't different than these other rappers. His word play and pictures he paints are not at the top. IMO, him and B.O.B are the same type of rappers, except I'd much rather listen to him over Drake.
I don't listen to much Drake, but all I know is he gets beat on his own music when he has others on it, like in Forever.
Drake dropped these throwaway tracks that we're going to be a free mixtape as an album. Make a little cash on it, and fulfills his 4album contract with cash money. He's leaving that sinking ship just like nicki and Wayne
Exactly. Now he is on his own to start OVO or Young Money and his actual studio album will come out later this year. This mixtape is not bad at all though. It's a different feel of his. Every beat delivers.

I listened to it today, and the beats was the best part of it. I'm a Drake fan as well, and it was sub par.

I don't think it was sub par, but I also don't think it was his best work. He has had better, but it was still very good.

He does the same thing on every album. Starts hard, then he starts talking to some girl, and then the last song or so is good. I could do without the girl talk every album.

See that's him though. He doesn't talk about women as "hoes". He has stories and relationships he airs out and that's why he is different and "sensitive" according to many.
IMO I don't think he'll be able to top Take Care. That Was by far his best work.
No one wants to bring up Jay-Z? He's been mainstream, but could destroy any underground rapper. Getting older now, but always garnered respect from everyone from the streets to the top of the charts.
