OT: Gus M at Auburn fired...

I know this is your dream scenario, and mine too. What do you think of DVD?
DVD is perfect in his current role.

Down the line he can make for a good CB's coach, but right now he simply doesn't have the experience to transition to that spot for what we need in immediate results.

If Rumph finally gets let go, he needs to be replaced with a proven Homerun hitter CB coach.

DVD should be the interim CB coach IF we have a bowl game since Rumph, Baker, and Patke should all be unemployed today. I am fine with moving Banda to ST coach and keeping him around because at least he is a decent recruiter.

Since Stroud was probably going to move to an off field job anyways, I guess he can stay on the staff but not as a position coach.

So Diaz only has to fire 3 of 5.

My booster buddy for Auburn just texted me

“Still waiting on Mario To confirm. With the PAC 12 cg on Friday it’s kinda messing the timeline up. But same is definitely still in play. We made an offer, Oregon matched, we countered for more and now he just has to decide. Tough week with signing day and a cg. He doesn’t want to be a **** like the last guy who left for fsu did for them, taggert.”

Oregon BOT meeting tomorrow with one item on the agenda; contract of head football coach.

He's perfectly fine with a 7-4 season. Supposedly, some boosters caught wind of him saying those words and that was the end for him. He's supposed to be a quarterback whisperer but that's not true. Nick Marshall was the last quarterback that actually looked good in his system. The other quarterbacks he signed all regressed or transferred out. Look at it this way, he wanted to make Malik Willis a wide receiver.

Supposedly? The man said it to a reporter. Said normally 6-4 in conference is a solid year. He quickly had to try to clarify that when AU fans went absolutely nuts.

Another Saban Disciple to get schooled by him every year?

Not buying. Auburn guys are saying Steele is their top choice.

If Auburn wants Mario, why don't the two sides just work out a trade? Oregon could take Malzahn for cheap now that Auburn is
gonna pay him $20 million to go away.

You’re not buying Cristobal but you’re buying a defensive coordinator, failed regime to be the head coach, what do you think this is Miami?
I mean, they fired a HC right before signing day. Doesn’t seem like the smartest guys are running the show. Cristobal’s extension seems like it’ll be coming soon. But I guess we’ll see, right? It’s not like Auburn is a smooth running ship.

Their insiders have been adamant that Steele is the leader from the jump. Cristobal has a $8mill buyout, plus salary, assistant pool and whatever other commitments. Is Auburn going to spend close to $40 mill to get Mario Cristobal? Doesn’t make much sense.

Auburn's AD should call Blake James for advice.

I went down some Twitter comment black hole yesterday of Auburn fans griping about Steele. It was entertaining. CFB fan misery is the best type of fan misery.
