He and his WSU Raiders just won their second consecutive Horizon Conference tourney title. He is in his third year at the helm. It is nice to see him doing well, they're 45-15 this year.

Semper Canes!!!

Lovelady, Cooper, and Kingston will all eventually be head coaches in power conferences. We will miss the window to be able to hire them because we hire assistants from within rather than hiring head coaches who worked their way up.

Rob Cooper is at Penn State right now and has finished 11th and 12th in his first two years in the Big Ten. He'll probably get fired before he gets a promotion to a bigger program.

Mark Kingston just had a losing season (24-33) at South Florida and finished in last place in the AAC.

So in other words they're right on track for big promotions, right?

Except that our current baseball coach and current coaches in football and basketball (men's and women's) were all hired from outside and had previous head coaching experience.

If you're going to act like you know everything, at least check your facts first.

2013 (Before Cooper got there) 14-36, #225 , 4-20 in Big 10
2014 (Cooper's first year) 18-32, #235 , 5-18

2016 28-27, #121 , 12-12

Dude has worked miracles at Penn State and clown boy has him getting fired. Your insistence on arguing with me causes you to look like a real *** sometimes.

Want to make any wagers on Rob Cooper's career?

Penn State was actually respectable (except in 2013) under the previous coach. They finished 3rd in the Big Ten three times in his tenure.

They were awful in Cooper's first two years and this year they won only two conference series: Purdue (10-44) and Northwestern (15-38). Both sweeps. Outside of sweeping the two worst teams in the league they were 6-12.

His Penn State teams blow.

Cooper may be a good coach but that doesn't save jobs in a results oriented business.

In his third season of 'working miracles' his team was...

3-11 vs. top 50
10-21 vs top 100

And my favorite...

13-26 vs. top 200

But he has worked miracles.

Brian, wouldn't that tank their RPI?? Because that would go against everything Jagqueen argues when we lose to "lesser" opponents.

The best part is that he wants to push out Jim Morris and replace him with guys like Rob Cooper and Mark Kingston.

Take a moment to digest that.

Cooper, Kingston, Morris, and your next door neighbor all have the same number of titles over the last 15 years.

Has Kevin O'Sullivan done better than 1-2 in Omaha at any point in the last 15 years? If so, O'Sullivan > Morris.

But 1999.

Your statement was pretty straightforward.

If you go worse than 2-2 in Omaha you're suspect as a coach. That's what you're suggesting.

So Kevin O'Sullivan is doubly suspect as a coach.

But you're not honest so you twist yourself like a pretzel to make it come right.

You're just obsessed.

So everyone on the planet is a suspect coach because we have all had a year when we went less than 2-2. Great logic, sport.

How about looking at it the other way. If you can't do any better than 1-2 as your career winds down and you feel like spending more and more time with your new grandchild then maybe it's time to move on.

Miami played WSU in a early series last year...It would be great if they payed Lovelady back with a midweek up here; I could leave from work and be there in seven minutes.

That's what you're saying. That's your logic.

You're the one who thinks there's a significant difference between 1-2 and 2-2.

Kevin O'Sullivan has gone 0-2 in Omaha twice in 4 tries. That's not a year.

I love how you ignore the other end of the spectern. Has O'Sullivan done BETTER than 1-2? Has he ever made it to the CWS finals? Has he ever made it to a bracket final? Because grandpa has done no better than 1-2 for 15 straight years.

But it's all random and we had 1999.
