Kellen Moore, a career backup and practice squad QB who was the last left handed QB left in the NFL (on contract) retired yesterday, and is taking over as QB coach for the Cowboys. Is this the fastest someone has gone into coaching after retirement?

Ken Dorsey was the QB coach for the Browns while he was on the team.

FACTS
 
Dallas is a nightmare. Needed a grey beard QB coach to help their 23 year old QB who struggled at little this year. So what do they do? Hire his 28 year old backup with zero coaching experience.
 
Kellen Moore is one of the most underrated QBs in CFB history. Never seen a QB throw with better anticipation in my life. Those Boise teams in '10 and '11 were really good and had a bunch of NFL players on them.

Glad to see Larry Csonka (on bass) helped him out on this one.
 
He has to process the game at an elite level to succeed with that arm - I assume he'll be a good coach.

Also there are no left handed QBs in the NFL?! That seems odd.

Vick, Tebow, Leinert, Chris Simms.

From what I think I understand, entire offenses are designed with a righty at qb in mind. With a lefty everything has to be switched around from the OTs, to the blocking schemes, to the route combinations. With a righty, their primary reads will be to the right side of the field mostly but with a lefty at will be left.....

Or we all just play baseball....

Vick, Tebow, Leinert, Chris Simms.

From what I think I understand, entire offenses are designed with a righty at qb in mind. With a lefty everything has to be switched around from the OTs, to the blocking schemes, to the route combinations. With a righty, their primary reads will be to the right side of the field mostly but with a lefty at will be left.....

Besides Dallas has become no experience necessary learn on the job with Garrett as OC then and HC
 
Yeah I just couldn’t think of any right then.

Can’t believe I forgot about Vick. He threw a nice ball, but couldn’t get his percentage much over 60.

Tebow? I said QBs. Not closeted homosexual fullbacks that could occasionally throw.

He wasn’t? I don’t know who I was thinking of. Was Stabler left handed?

Edit: I see someone already had mentioned Stabler. Maybe that’s who I was thinking of? Who the fūck knows.
