OT: Etienne Returning to Clemson

I’m guessing the school maxes out the official policy, and another policy is added on by “outside” sources.

They range from $1M to $10M.
 
It’s crazy even with insurance and bags that won’t make up for the money he loses especially if he gets injured.

There’s no guarantee they get back or he has a great season.
 
After next year he'll still have less carries than Dobbins has as of today. He averages less than 14 carries a game. It's not like they run him like osu did with Dobbins or Wisconsin did with Taylor.
 
Even the good NFL backs only get 2 contracts anyway. Clem$on will take care of him and he can improve his interior running to get picked higher. Injury risk is the real downside to this decision.

Those schools dont have the CULTURE we have here.

1.) We recruit them with the NFL U pitch
2.) We actually have a strong base of alumni that come back to work out at the school. Guys that are practice squad, to guys that are seasoned vets, to cfl guys. Our players see them pulling up in luxury foreign cars. It aint happening at Bama or Clemson
3.) They are at schools that are the professional teams in their city. They are treated like CELEBRITIES. I dont know how many times i have to say this.....UM players dont hold much weight in the city when it comes to nightlife or anything. The last time they had some sort of pull was like 04-05. For example ....the Muhammad kid who played DL here....i would ROUTINELY be in line with him at clubs when he was here...NO ONE NOTICED HIM.lol **** after a while i started saying whats up to him because we would end up at the same spots and he was a sniper like me...
4.) They Pay players. From Boosters to whomever. These kids and their families are being taken care of...to the point they like being in school...Our guys are chasing a check, after being playing ball their whole life in south florida with a bunch of friends they grew up with and people they worked out with...already collecting checks in the nfl. We cant even fun a bill board...none of u or the WEZZIES are giving Bandy $200. And if u did...most of yall would turn Shapiro.

And that downside is diminished with him likely taking out an insurance.

I agree with everything you just said, but for my old ***, educate me, what's a sniper?
 
Rbs lose value over time . If you are a 1st-2nd rounder guaranteed then there is no reason to come back and that goes for any position, especially if you are a running back

The bags people make fools of themselves on a daily basis. If anyone sees this topic and the first thing they think of is bags, they own a screwed up thought process throughout life
 
Clemson got incoming five star freshman RB, Demarkus Bowman from Lakeland. When he signed during the early signing period, Bowman probably thought he would play a lot as a freshman. Now, it appears he will be fighting for PT with Etienne who is returning

Ahmmon Richards informed that if you are a projected 1-2 round draft pick, the school picks up half the tab on the insurance policy

All very good points and things that I have hit on I regards to recruiting in general. Players are treated like gods in these college towns. Here they are the small fish. With that being said, it’s still crazy when potential first rd picks return. I’m sure their families have been setup with jobs etc by the boosters so maybe that’s also part or the deal.
