OT:Dolphins free agency

i wasn't a fan of vernon and he made a lot of mental mistakes, ill take williams for less and see what happens

the maxwell/alonso trade is a high risk high reward for me, didn't give too much for 2 starters, but they both have question marks with injury and being away from a certain scheme

we might draft a DB with they pick if we get a dam guard or a tackle with that pick imma go crazy, i hate ramsey with a passion at FSU but i hope he falls to phins (yes it pained me to type that )
Actually low risk on the trade because we probably gave up low round picks and we can get out of the Maxwell deal next year no prob and I would lean to DE or OLB in the draft...they're in a lot of conversations for DB's on the market...also if jalen Ramsey or shaq isn't there, they're probably trading down

its a high risk because kikos injury concern and maxwells lack of production after leaving the hawks, i wouldn't go LB or DE with the 8th pick if they dont decide to trade down, this is a deep draft at those positions, id hope we get janoris in free agency and see if ramsey drops if he doesn't id trade down get some extra draft picks and then go after a OL or LB or DE thats only if we trade down
Dude Kiko makes 900 k and Maxwell's deal in 2017 is only 3 mil guaranteed

ok? how well will kiko be if he aint on the field with a injury? and how is maxwells contract numbers going to help if his play sucks? im pretty sure maxwell is making more than 3 mill, but the cap had nothing to do with my high risk high reward comment

Going into next offseason, if maxwell ***** a brick they can cut him without any problem because that year only 3 mil guaranteed and they probably gave them the 6th and 7th this year and the next. That's why it's low risk

so you would be ok with another mediocre year?

quick question would rather them have kept Brice McCain and played him on the other side like last year or take Maxwell who's is going to fit our defense since we're probably going to be running a defense similar to Seattle?

Dude you CAN'T get any worse opposite Brent grimes than what we had last year, those two guys aren't deciding the season and either or what makes you thinks it's not going to be mediocre we still have 5 positions that need to be addressed

It is looking like we gave up WAY more than a 6th or 7th. The report is we are swapping our 1st round picks AND giving Philly our 4th round pick. They raped us in this trade. That's the equivalent of a 2nd round pick if you go by the trade value chart, and Maxwell was worse than Grimes last year, and will cost us a bit more money. Alonso is cheap but he was bad last year too. HOPEFULLY he can regain the form from his rookie year. That's not worth what the Fins reportedly are giving up. This is laughably bad.

That's being reported as false also

Eagles-Dolphins mega-trade for Byron Maxwell in danger of coming apart - CBSSports.com

Sounds like the Maxwell deal could be DOA. Maxwell's Silver Hammer must have come crashing down on Tannenbaum's head.
going through. Just got cleared on the shoulder

****, You're much higher on Maxwell than I am.
I'm not high on him, he's just going to a defense that's supposedly is going to be similar to seattle's which really suits him because he's a press and drop ( zone ) guy and the Eagles played him in off-man coverage so I'm willing to give him a season

We also don't have Richard Sherman on the other side or Kam Chancellor or Earl Thomas on the back-end. If we were going to spend that kind of money we should've pushed for J. Jenkins. I still think we need to take Hargraeves or Alexander in the first round.

well we'll see because if I'm the Dolphins the next guys I look at is Casey Heyward or Danny trevathan( price tags should be a 7 mil for both ) and that should decide but I'll be in favor trading down into the middle first round and take Eli Apple instead of Alexander. Just because Hargreaves is there doesn't trump the fact we need 2 starting guards, starting MLB or WLB ( depending on how they view Kiko ), and a starting FS and this is the best draft to get all four if you can

Would any of you roll the dice on Noah Spence at OLB?

**** no, his first round grades are a myth. Turn on Von Miller's and Kalil Mack's college tapes( who's he's mostly compared to ) and then watch his and see if he's even close to them out of college. If you know what you're looking for its night and day

Quick update, there's no picks given away for the Dolphins in the eagles trade. They just swapped first round picks. Very convinced they're targeting Darron Lee or Reggie Ragland...might sign CB's in free agency. Gut tells me they're not done trading the first round pick...it's telling me they might use it to bait the Rams or Texans to overpay for a QB in the draft ( if Texans don't get Osweiler )
