The problem was, we went from a coach who didn't bother with strength training (our players were notoriously weak under Shannon) to a coach who needed big guys to run his system. So you end up with a bunch of guys playing out of position and being bulked up too fast. They really didn't have any 3/4 ends on the roster so they had to force round pegs into square holes. That became a repeated theme of that staff.

In three games this season the guy has one tackle. The one he had last night.

Yet people go out of their way to blow him up so they can rip Al Golden one more time. Or rip other posters who merely spoke the truth: Chickillo is the same guy now that he was at Miami.

Totally mediocre.

Saying that Chickillo was thoroughly mediocre and never made a play is not hating. It's being honest.

The moment he left he started ripping the coaching staff. And for what? Because he could never shed a block and make a play.

Dude is exactly the same player he was at Miami.

What potential is there in a guy who has 1 tackle in 3 games and barely plays?

The difference between Chickillo and Burns is that Artie Burns is actually good. Both players are the exact same guys that they were at Miami.

Al Golden failed at Miami but you don't have to make stuff up and pile on the lies in order to articulate that.

If people like the coaching staff they'll give them credit for NFL players that they probably don't deserve. If they don't like the coaching staff they'll give them blame that they probably don't deserve.

The guy has 1 tackle this year and barely registers a meaningful snap.

Saying that Chickillo is mediocre is not trashing a player. It's speaking the truth.

Guy was rated as one of the 8 worst edge defenders in the league last year. Yet people think becuase he made one tackle (his first of the year by the way) that's he's good and that the coaches failed him?

LMAO so he ripped Al Golden and Mark D'Onofrio? Maybe because they were garbage.

Here's the thing, you may not like Chickillo for whatever reason but he's managed to stay on an NFL active roster for three plus seasons. That makes him better than 99% of the the other people who have ever played football.

They were.

But not because Anthony Chickillo didn't make any plays. That was because Anthony Chickillo is a mediocre player. Every metric agrees. The only people who don't accept the truth are deluded Al Golden haters who are incapable of moving on.

It's not about liking or disliking.

He's not a good player now and he wasn't a good player at Miami.

You don't have to lie to criticize Al Golden. So then why do so many people do it?

Also, I love the fact that he's on an NFL roster. Miami gets even mediocre guys on active rosters. It's good for the brand.

But I don't have to pretend that he's a good player when he's not.
