The gist of the article was that Jones called helm a ***** for poor play.

...Look, far from me to say anything, but when I was wrestling in High School, our coach called us out for poor effort and poor technique. Getting called a ***** is tame, lol.

I think the players transferred because they didnt want a corch, lol

Some coaches motivate in different ways.

Oh whatever. Manny Wright was an overgrown baby. He spurned UM for USC back in the day too, by the way.
 
I am all for being against physical abuse, to include the no water break gag.

But verbal abuse? Calling a player a puss is not even on my radar. :)

But this site has clowns that believe that any kid who transfers is a ****. Stick it out no matter what, they say. That only losers leave and that they’ll never be anything. LOL.

That Mayfield guy will be picking up a Heisman in a few weeks.
 
This dudes son...is in fact a p*ssy and deserves to play for someone like CUCKCLIFFE. I mean dude wanted to transfery after being clowned in film session enough to call his dad?. Then cried stating ...i blocked him out of bounds but he didnt bring that up..lol

The funny part about that incident is that after a while the players rose up. I remember hearing a story where Junior Seau embarrassed him and how the players didn't respect him. You can do that to college kids or a guy on the border line to make the roster, but once you do that to a star player I doubt it works.

You can do that to college kids or a guy on the border line to make the roster, but once you do that to a star player I doubt it works.

Not after while..they never did. He only pulled it with weak people like wright..channing crowder speaks about it all the time on his radio show. He **** sure couldnt corral Channing Crowder let along Junior Seau. Crowder said Seau showed up to film whatever time he wanted to and basically told coaches to eat a d*ck.

Why do u think the guy was back in college so fast.

The famous Saban story was one of his players on the Dolphins was having heat stroke in the locker room and passed out. He didn’t even acknowledge him and had to walk over him to get to the office. Also no one could say hello to him and had to look away when he went by.

I knew this before he even took the Fins job over a decade ago. He can’t coach million dollar egos. It’s actually a liability in the pros. He’s a CFB coach.
 
I mean the parallels between Jones and Golden are hard to ignore. Both fired in their 5th season's. Signing huge classes to have half of them transfer away or quit the team. Both hated by their players. And last but not least both huge corches.

As for the article that kid is indeed a puss. Your a grown man in college and you cry to your dad about being called a pvssy? If that's the worst thing that ever happens or gets said to him in life then he should be very grateful.
 
Oh no he called him a pvssy?!? Butch Jones is a phony and a disaster but I've heard and seen much worse from my High School coaches.
 
Butch Jones is scumbag for telling UT prospects to look elsewhere after he got fired. Can't see how any other school would hire him if this is how he conducts himself.

As for yelling at players and calling them names this is as old as the game itself

Rumors from Knoxville and other stops are that he is a giant ******* and has a history of being physically abusive to players as well. Guy is a giant tool. Al Golden with a bigger budget.
 
looking at butch's wikipedia, it's mind blowing how he ever got the job at ut in the first place

his best record was 11-2 at central ***ing michigan

after that he went a grand total of 23-14 with ***ing cincinnati...

that made him a must have for the vols?.. ^_-
 
OP, I can tell you aren’t a military guy or likely have any contact whatsoever with any. This is just another day in the USMC for not even a shred of the pay that boy will be getting once he graduates to the pros. Look, I know they are entirely different institutions and the end goal is entirely different as well, but still. I don’t reserve the term ‘scumbag’ for people who are verbally abusive.

They got turned down by several coaches if I remember correctly. Gruden, Strong, Fedora, Cutcliffe. Butch was like 4th or 5th choice. He was actually headed to Colorado before UT got on him.
