And too many teams trying to be FBS schools. The economics don't always support millions for coaches, support, 85 scholarships, and a stadium (even a small one).

Is Pete Garcia the AD? If so, FIU will forever be a dumpster fire with him at the helm.

Correction: I just read he stepped down. He was a terrible AD and put the program back 15 years. Watching schools like UCF, App State, FAU & Coastal Carolina, there’s no excuses for FIU to be where it’s at as a school in Miami.

FIU is one of the largest schools in the country by student enrollment #s.
FIU has an on-campus stadium & their student section actually gets really rowdy
FIU is smack dab in the middle of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country. Our 2 stars excel.
They play in probably the worst division in the worst conference in the FBS.

There is literally no reason for them to be bad besides the athletic department not giving a ****.

Butch announced to his coaching staff that he won't be back? LOL, FIU posted his job a month ago! Every job Butch has held ends in a bad way. If what he says is true why didn't he resign last year? $1M+ that's why. Garcia "retired" last week. Dumpster fire is putting it mildly.

Regardless of any he said she said, there is absolutely no excuse for 1-16 against one of the easiest schedules in America. A coach like Davis should be able to do better than that with a HS team.
