OT: Art Briles to be fired by Baylor Administration

If major sanctions are coming down, any chance we could knab one or two of those DB recruits if the NCAA mafia allow them to play immediately? Just sayin.

I respect Baylor for this choice, they really sent a message by firing the man imo made that program great at winning. With that said, I would love Briles on our staff even though its unrealistic, but Briles at OC at Miami would be a match made in heaven and would terrify college football.

Art Briles is a family man. This is a tough pill to swallow.

This clown laps up that that toxic Jersey sludge straight from the retention pond like its his job.

I'm sure the families of the rape victims he discouraged or tried to cover up think he's a great family man, too.

That Pepper Hamilton report must have made it crystal clear that Briles was aware of all the dirty **** going on. Before that report, they were talking about keeping Briles. They did everything they could do to avoid firing Briles.

I'm not too sure some people get the seriousness of this circumstance. Briles got canned, so did the university president. If federal courts find Baylor violated Title IX, they could lose federal funding. This very much could be the end of Baylor football. Briles will never get another coaching gig. This is not just an NCAA violation.

They didn't look into two rapes for two years ----- Title IX is some serious stuff - surprised FSU didnt have the same outcome

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

After he spoke at a jobs summit in Orlando, Fla., Miami coach Mark Richt was asked about Art Briles losing his job at Baylor. "I don't know why but I read a lot about the Penn State case," Richt said. "It caught my interest, and obviously it was very important to college football at the time. But this one in particular, I've not read one sentence other than a headline all along. You knew something was cooking; you didn't know what. I don't have any details of it, but I just know it's a sad time for a lot of people."

I think you have to separate "offenses" into two categories. Football and football related violations, and sexual assault/Title IX type violations.

The former sucks for football fans, but the NCAA will generally look away, especially if the $EC is involved. The latter though, in today's world, are a totally different matter. Those now get the hammer, as they should. So what will likely happen is little to nothing at Ole Mi$$, despite unprecedented cheating, while Tennessee will probably have troubles. That coaches chair for Butch Jones just got WAY hotter.....

Guaranteed that Jurich is trying to lure Briles to Loserville to coach in some capacity. He would fit right in with Bobby and Rick

Since the TPD basically said there were no crimes FSU can say, "Hey, the police said there were no crimes, so we just believed them!" That whole town is crooked.
