Black people pick the worst role models.

Please tell which or any of these is "Worst" role model:

Euphemia Lofton Haynes. In 1943 Haynes graduated from the Catholic University of America with her Ph.D. in mathematics -- the first African-American woman to do so. She dedicated 47 years of her life teaching in Washington, D.C., public schools and was the first woman to chair the D.C. school board.

Charles Hamilton Houston. Widely known as the Man Who Killed Jim Crow, Houston was a lawyer and a major player in dismantling Jim Crow laws. He also was a role model for several African-American lawyers in the United States, including Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.

Martin Luther King Jr. This well-known activist was a leader in the African-American civil rights movement. He led nonviolent protests against segregation and is famous for his "I Have a Dream" speech. He was the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.

Autherine Lucy. Paving the way for others in the African-American community, Lucy was the first African-American student to attend the University of Alabama in 1956, in spite of threats. In later years, the university named an endowed scholarship in her honor.

President Barack Obama. President Obama is the 44th president of the United States and the first African-American to serve. Prior to taking office, he was a U.S. senator from Illinois. President Obama has fought for issues ranging from universal health care to same-*** marriage.

First Lady Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama is the first African-American First Lady of the United States. During her time in the White House, she has led several initiatives including "Let's Move!," which addresses the challenge of childhood obesity, and "Let Girls Learn," which aims to help educate and empower women around the world.

Rosa Parks. Parks is known as the "first lady of civil rights." In December 1955 she refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white passenger and was arrested. As a result of this act of defiance, Rosa Parks became a symbol of the modern civil rights movement.

Melissa Harris Perry. Perry is the host of the Melissa Harris-Perry weekend news and opinion television show on MSNBC. In addition, she is a politics and international affairs professor at Wake Forest University and the founder of the Anna Julia Cooper Center, which focuses on gender, race, and politics in the South.

Neil deGrasse Tyson. This well-known astrophysicist and cosmologist is the fifth head of the Hayden Planetarium in New York City. As a popular voice for all things astronomy, he most recently began hosting Star Talk, a talk show on the National Geographic Channel.

Booker T. Washington. A political adviser and writer, he founded Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute in Alabama in 1881, which became a leading school in the nation. He is also well known for his famous Atlanta compromise speech.

That's just inflammatory. Regardless of their politics, they're not trash. They seem to have treated the president-elect kindly after all the crap he said. Trash usually comes from Tennessee and makes its way onto this board around the closing weeks of recruiting time.

When people protest the national anthem it's not disrespecting the militiary in fact many of the sport protestors have come out and stated that that isn't the intent. It's to protest against oppression of people of color and unfair treatment in the USA. If you can't get then you just don't want to. Instead of trying to shut someone up all the time for protesting, listen to the message... by not acknowledging that there is a problem in this country only enables the sh*t to keep going on and on. Can't keep sweeping this sh*t under the rug. Hate when folks say it's not about race or racism doesn't exist. Gtfoh, don't speak on it if you have not been racially profiled or experienced any type of unfair treatment...

They can say that all they want. If I took a leak in your garden would you be livid or would you say "Don't worry guys he just cares about the environment?" Why not kneel in church when The Pastor says stand to protest "racial injustice". Not saying there isn't injustice but Kap is going to stop it? LOL. I said let him protest stay in the locker room. You can say he has respect for the military all day long back it up. Do it another way millenials will never get it which is why this country is in trouble. Hope I am wrong but don't think so.

They are going to preach to me about the black struggle how many of them grew up in an all black neighborhood, went to an all black school and played QB as the only white guy on team? These same people would their get asses kicked inside of 5 seconds in my old neighborhood. Nothing worse than acting like you know more about the African American community living in rich suburbia. What a joke man!

I am not making this a racial issue Kaepardick did! Done talking about this it is stupid. This is another reason why the future of this country is in the hands of some people I wouldnt trust with a water pistol.

I agree with BigJoeGrizzly. I'm still trying to figure out where this oppression is occurring in this country. What's the end goal for Kaepernick where he feels everything is right in the country again? This country is far from perfect, but it never was perfect to begin with. For as bad as this country is according to Kaepernick and other millenials - they're at least afforded the right to protest (although they're not free from criticism). Do this ish in other countries like Russia or North Korea and let me know how this works out.

Kaepernick is going to get some of Fidel's beard and make a merkin for himself.

I got some of that faqcit's beard, and I'm getting it transplanted to my ******* so Fidel can taste my poo every morning.

Armando criticizing Kap is like **** calling **** ****

You apparently didn't read the article.

I've been calling this from the start that Colin Kaepernick was a **** ignorant hypocrite. Armando just pretty much pointed out in a much more eloquent and detailed fashion.

no he didn't. His missed the larger point in order to pass his personal bones about the subject. But take from it what you will.

I think Kaepernick's beef is more rooted in the isolated systemic oppression of a single social group within a larger free democratic society. A Communist dictator uniformly oppressing all people is an entirely different abhorrent circumstance. Apples and Oranges. It may be too nuanced for some, but i'm far from surprised by the reaction of the unapologetic bigots who roam this site.

you are comparing a dictatorship to what Kaepernick feels is a failed democracy. You have to find a more equitable comparison. This doesn't fly.

The point is Kaepernick is a dumb motherfcker who pimped a murderous tyrant on his facquit tshirt while attempting to make a stupid stand against oppression in America.

This stupid piece of **** is pimping the disgusting bearded face of oppression while purporting to be some sort of anti-oppression activist. Then the dumb **** fake new age internet activist didn't even vote.

It's all about a hashtag and a movement that requires no effort for the new age pvssies. Tell my Cuban brothers and sisters who floated here over shark infested waters on toothpicks to escape that bearded tyrannical scumbag about what a hero some lazy stupid **** is for kneeling during a song.

Thank you for this. It's obviously an emotional subject, but the reflexive discrediting, hate-speech, and anti-American narrative that follows anyone protesting American disenfranchisement is a barrier to true progress and unity.

Oppression of humans isn't an academic or nuanced subject. Oppression is oppression.

You can't call yourself some sort of activist against oppression of people and wear a Fidel tshirt. It's actually very simple. You're trying to be too cute and nuanced on a subject with no room for either. Save that **** and your dopey inapposite emoji for academic subjects.
