OT: Apologies to Pat Riley

Winslow isn't a building block. He's a role player. If we could had the opportunity to package him with another player like Dragic for an upgrade I'd do it in a SECOND.
Disagree on him being just a role player , he flashed a lot last year and had 27 7 7 game opening night. Will be the heats future starting point guard. I would to if we get somebody worth of value but if we can’t I’m fine with Winslow right now

And I disagree completely with your post. He can't shoot, can't finish, and he's a tweener. On a contending team he's a 6th, and more than likely, a 7th man.

Winslow has ti be a Patrick Beverly type. Defensive specialist first. Wouldnt count on him for offense.

Except his body type and lateral quickness will NEVER allow him to be as good an on-the-ball defender as Beverly is.

I hesitate to even say "poor man's".....he's a chapter 11 version of Ron Artest. Artest was a better shooter and had a few seasons where he pushed 18-20 ppg. Winslow isn't capable of that type of production.

Winslow starts and our scoring comes off the bench in herro and goran. Team looks good. The heat might not be finals bound but they’re are everything I wish the dolphins and canes could be. Good organization with good leadership and culture that identifies and develops talent

Theyre building an attractive core for free agents.

Even before they had this kind of start, there was some chatter that Miami is one of the destinations Giannis would be interested in.

At the end of the day Winslow is still an excellent defender and the 2 years prior this season was a good 3 point shooter around 38%. He’s gotten off to a slow start shooting this year but he’s only 23 and still developing his offensive game.

We will see, i think your are writing him off too early given his age. Jimmy butler when he was 23 wasn’t even doing what Winslow was doing yet he became that type of player

I'd slow down on the "excellent" defender thing. He's a good team defender. His on-the-ball D is a little overrated. Guys take him off the bounce pretty often.

His shooting isn't going to get much better. He's just not a natural shooter of the ball. Sample size is big enough at this point to get a decent idea of what he's going to be offensively.

He's a 6th or 7th man.

I'm not writing him off, I'm simply labeling him what he is. This misconception of "upside" that's attached to Winslow has always bothered me. To be honest it's not fair to him cause he's never going to be an all star caliber player.

I can easily see us finishing in the top half of the eastern conference. We have excellent perimeter shooting, which will create some wide open lanes for Jimmy Butler to do his thing, because defenders are going to have to stay home on the shooters. At any giving time there are 4 legit 3 point threats on the floor. That is very hard for any team to defend.

I can totally see it. Heat are a first-class championship organization and Giannis and Bam are friends who workout together in the offseason and share the same agent.
