OT: Apologies to Pat Riley

**** of a find in Nunn. Straight baller. Herro also looks good, I know a lot of people hated the pick but I saw the the Heat saw when they drafted. Competitive kid who can shoot and has enough skill to get his own shot when he has to. Bam is coming into his own now that bum *** Whiteside is gone and isn't stealing him minutes. I like the move of Dragic coming off the bench and running the second team, he should be one of the best 6th men in the league if the Heat keep him.

Exactly. I knew Nunn was talented when he was in GS summer league. I was surprised they let him go. I’m glad Miami picked him up. This is what Riley needed to do. Go back to his New York years finding sleepera.
 
It's going to be a serious season now. With Nunn and Herro, we're one free agent away from a shot at the Eastern Conference Finals and possibly THE NBA Finals. We just became the most attractive landing spot for the next few off seasons. NO ONE saw THIS coming. Butler unselfish and feeding the kids... That guy has taken a beating in the media the last few years. He's going to shove it up everyones ***. I can't wait to see this team grow. The second half of this season is going to be magical.
 
Heat still needs to tighten up on defense to do well in the playoffs but i like the fact that they are giving a lot of burn to the rookies early in the season. That is so unlike Spo...

i knew this team would be better and definitely more athletic but I thought they would need time to gel.

And I never thought that an Erik Spostra coached team would be known as an offensive juggernaught but wow. There is so much fire power on this team. With Goran and Herro you have a really solid bench as well.

I’m really excited to see them play the Houston and Philly and see how we match up with them.

And to what the poster said about Free Agents absolutely! This heat team has to look like the clippers did last year. I hope that we stand pat with this team and go for an FA first. Then if not make a trade unless a young all-nba player is available.

I think it comes down to they finally drafted and picked up the right rookies who are actually better than the other players already on the team.

my only concern with this team is defense. I don’t believe we can field an elite defense. I think we can field a very sound defense due to scheme but we are one elite defender away.

at the same time we you can score as much as this team can that becomes your defense also.

Scary thing is Butler hasn't even found his groove yet, and once Derrick Jones Jr and James Johnson join the rotation full-time the squad will be even deeper. Waiters had a chance to be a part of something special for the first time in his career, but he chose to be selfish, so ***** him.

Not to mention they're very high on the potential of their other rookie, KZ Okpala. If the Heat are high on him then obviously they see something special in him.
 
Thought Zach Lowe was crazy when he said the Heat would be the 3 seed. But I'm very glad to be proven wrong so far.
 
Heat always seem to cultivate dudes like this from nowhere. Makes you wonder why they felt the need to match Tyler Johnson's contract and pay Waiters when they can find cheap replacements so easily.

I said before that the Heat should target Kyle Lowry and now I think he'd make them a Finals contender with the Bucks looking weaker. Problem is the Raptors look really good so I don't see them selling guys. Who else can the Heat target?

Agree about the Finals part but chill with the rest. A core of rotation dudes and aging Butler on a max deal is not that attractive.

man i wonder if lowry would even pass a conditioning test here with the riley standards. all jokes aside, lowry would be fine if theyre just selling to sell his contract. wouldnt part with any young talent on the cheap for him. rather wait one more year and have more money in 2021 to find a high profile FA to pair with the young guys and the current star in Jimmy
 
This is off topic but Allen Iverson is a way better Shooting Guard than D Wade ever was by 100 miles.... nowhere near the same level of talent.

Nunn, Herro, Silva, and Bam would be the magnets. Lot of games to play, but that's an exciting young core.

Nunn reminds me of Wade. Not as athletic, but he has that wade moxie and savvy. Big time heist.

Patrick Beverly is overrated. He gives you 7 points in 40 minutes and his defense isnt even that great technically. He just plays hard and talks a lot of **** the whole game

You're not really saying anything controversial w your statement. Wade would probably agree with you even.
