OT - Anyone getting grocey delivered?

The other issue with Publix/Instacart aside from the markup is you agree to allow them to make (usually undesirable) substitutions too. But hey- desperate times call for desperate measures.

My advice is to hit up Trader Joe's about an hour before they close. No crowds and they're usually restocking around then too. Their frozen orange chicken actually kills the Rona.
They also have (If you're over 60), 7 am to 9 am hours on TUE-WED-THU. Light traffic, everyone courteous, not racing to the isles or the cashier to beat everyone, most of all, not hoarding at that time. Also, you have the roads to yourself.

I have used Amazon Fresh here in LA but it has been near impossible to schedule a two-window within the three-day schedule the site provides. I had some success with Whole Foods but that’s hit-and-miss. Fortunately I’m stocked up on what I need, and what I usually eat.

I do live two blocks from a butcher selling grass-fed beef, pastured pork and poultry, and other foods. More expensive but it does support local farmers who would normally sell wholesale to restaurants.

Not crazy about walmart, but they have pick up. Order on line, click on designated date/time for pick up...pull into pick up slot & a guy comes out with your delivery. H reads off any substitutes & if you don't want, removes them & adjusts your bill. All regular prices & no pick up charge. They always seem to be out of eggs. I mask & glove & go into Winn-Dixie for meats and do the same @ Publix for my beloved pineapple sherbert.

it honestly depends on the driver/store.

Whole foods, was 90% good...was my first order and didn't realize i should choose not to substitute.

costco delivery was perfect.

publix was terrible...10% was correct...like the guy didn't give a crap at all. Told it not to sub...he subbed...and everything was wrong.

Got one from Winn Dixie and went well. No charge and no uplift. Tip was optional to put on after delivery -- not cash. Didn't get everything because store was out. will definitely use again.

Also, got one from publix. Got a gallon of water we didn't order but were not charged but loss some apples we were charged for. There was price uplift and charge for delivery and something esle I think. Wife is fighting with them still -- not big money but don't mess her money. They did get an item we were having trouble finding so mixed bag. Will only use a backup to Winn Dixie now.

**** No.....I just left Publix whistling like I hit the Lottery....
I grew up in grocery business so it is hard to let anyone shop for me but I am high risk for this crap and need to ride mobility scooter so I am lower to the ground than my 6'2" is use to when some idiot sneezes. ****, I quit going to the casino before they closed them so I figured why not let someone shop for me. Stay safe.

We're delivering an assload of wine at my wine shop...free home delivery. People are drinking lol. Record sales in March
Bishops closed down Catholic Masses. After trying the water to wine thing we gave up and started buying. We need that wine from someplace.

We're getting INSTACART (Publix), COSTCO & Whole Foods deliveries. No markups but they don't pick fruits & veggies as we would and not all items available
check those prices from INSTACART against the publix weekly sales -- I think they do mark up some. True, picking veggies and fruit as well as meat take skill and caring.

I heard good stuff about Walmart. Not my favorite place to shop either. My son-in-law told me that you have to trade toilet paper for eggs now :6fps6:

My buddy was doing it until he noticed they were putting ridiculous markups on some items. That was before all this craziness.

Recently placed an order on Amazon.

For the first several hours we weren't able to pick a delivery window, but kept refreshing on the MacBook during the day and eventually was able to get a delivery window two days out.

Of everything on the list—milk, eggs, snacks, etc.—only one bag of shredded cheese was out. Rest of $200-ish order was available.

Also found a local meat distributor who sent us a pricing list and loaded up on ground beef, chicken breast, chicken thighs, steaks, etc.—all vacuum-sealed and delivered.

Would highly suggest everyone does some digging to see if they can find something similar in their city. We're loaded up through at least July now—and if Amazon keep delivering, legit will not have to leave the house until the end of summer.

I'm a manager for Winn Dixie so I see the shipt workers all the time. I try to go out of my way to help them out because I know they have a tough job to do (deliver on time, correct products, quality products etc).
