Open letter to UM fan base . . .

The fan base was soo supportive back then that the football program was on the verge of being shut down. It is the fans duty to voice their displeasure with the coaches when they see fit. Bad mouthing players is not right but the corches are fair game, especially when they show ineptitude for their paid job. After a couple seasons of the worst defense in the history of CANES football something has to be said, which is why the banners flew. I support the kids, but the corches have lost my support. 3 wins over ****** teams aren't gonna change my opinion of the corches. If they beat the Nolies, then I might be headed back to supporting them.

For me to fully support the corches, MIAMI has to win out, and win their bowl game convincingly.

Most of these golden cheerleaders have to be 13 year old kids banging away at there keyboard. Its the only thing that makes any sense.

lol, I'm definitely not superior than any fans here, although I am older than some. ( unfortunately) It's just a matter of perspective.

Golden had to deal with the rat, lets see if he can turn it around or not. If not, then he needs to go, I agree. Still, why be disrespectful and demeaning to our own? Save that for the Gators, Seminoles, and Notre Dame coaches, players, fans, etc. . . I win and lose with my team. It affects me emotionally because I'm a fan. We are all Canes here, ( except for the moles)

There's a line you shouldn't cross, it's just common sense, but I guess not with you guys. I'm just calling for the Canes fans to show up in two weeks and outnumber the **** Seminole fans and be loud as **** and pump some energy into our team. Let's get that home field advantage back again. The OB was a **** of a place to watch a game, but it's gone now, time to make new memories and bring new energy to the team. Make the players feel your passion. Go to the **** game! Stop whining like *******, man the **** up. . .

Well, to hear Alice tell us it's because these kids, see, these kids who have never seen a football before in their life are now, JUST NOW, finally "getting it". Give him credit, the guy has done wonders with these kids over the past 3 1/2 seasons. Took raw, undeveloped talent and developed it to where now, and only now, they finally know how to play the game. So, those losses early in the year? ALL ON THEM. Can't blame the coaches for any of it.

Never mind that we are seeing a brand of foosball that Golden has NEVER corched his entire corching career. Naw, it's ALL ON THE KIDS, see.

It really amazes me how many Golden girls continue to slurp on the coach who constantly rags on the players. As if those players didn't know **** from Shinola when they arrived on campus. Now that they're being allowed to play instinctively rather than according to some pseudo-science, bull**** scheme, Alice is supposed to get credit. You recruit players who can play in order to LET THEM PLAY. Yeah, the pressure of fans fed up with the bull**** expressed by non-renewals, the flying of banners, the calling into radio stations, the harping to Golden Canes, YEAH that ALL contributed to the change we've seen. Don't fool yourself into believing otherwise.

Well I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion...but pressure from the fans along with numerous sports commentators, and most likely (but unknown to us) numerous U officials, trustees, and donors - has probably had some impact on the coaching which has just been sailing along and not giving 2 focks. There looks to be some improved game planning and although they were ****ty opponents we have some sound victories and see players playing the game and not worrying as much about following some rigid and wrongheaded coaching strategies. Golden has felt the pressure and made changes - Coley is developing into a real coordinator and not just a recruiter. So things are "trending" up but we have more games and a bowl game. On track but a long way from the end of the line.

Sign me well over 40. Sat in many an empty OB. EVERYONE is entitled to their opinion including those you disagree with.

One point I will disagree with - rooting against the Canes - will never do, will never happen.

We beat a horrible Cincinnati team, horrible Virginia Tech team, and a horrible UNC team AS WE SHOULD HAVE. I feel slightly better going into the FSU game but I am not all hoorah like most of you Golden fans. We have seen this show before...
