I've been a fan since "Ottis Anderson" days, when Kelly and Schnelly came around, it changed everything. The fans back then loved the Canes win or lose. ( We lost a lot back in day!) We still loved them and didn't bad mouth the team. True fans went to every home game. I did my part when I was young and supported the crap out of the "U", through the good times and the bad. We never talked **** about our team. We let the the GAYtors and Semi-holes do that for us. Do you guys realize that our rivals are loving all this ****? What recruit wants to come to a place where the fans are so disrespectful?

Do I love Golden? Not really, unless he can make a turn around, he will need to be replaced. Will I "boo" at a game? Possibly. Would I ever say something negative about my team? Never! We win or lose together as a family. Man up and support your team!

Every home game George Mira, Ottis Anderson, Jim Kelly, Vinny T., Jerome Brown, Warren Sapp, etc.. highlight, I was there supporting the team, win or lose. Notre Dame used to kick our ***, but I remember beating Penn State, ( with Kelly) awesome memories. Don't effing feel entitled that we are somehow owed a great team or a great home field advantage. That came with a passionate fan base that really loved their team. Really loved their team.

If your son was failing English in school would you post signs up around the school, telling him what a dumbass he is. The "U" is a family, I'm in my 40's and it kills me to see the fan base so divided. Lets get back to supporting the "U" and getting numbers out to the games. If Golden fails, he will be removed, let it play out, until then, let's band together as a family and support the players and the coaches. They represent the Greatest college football team in modern history, they deserve our respect because they represent our community our people. We are not entitled to anything, lets get some positive energy going, you know who's coming to town in two weeks!

Let's rock that ******* house and turn that stadium into a University of Miami proving ground. Lets start another home game winning streak, bring your attitude, your fury and your hate for everything Seminole to the game. Bring it! The next banner should read, " It's time to pay for your crimes, ******* (Seminoles)"

A Passionate UM fan ( for life)

Close the letter and throw away the quill you wrote it with, Ben Franklin. It's dull to beat your chest and tell everyone what a superman fan you are and how others who express displeasure are inferior.

Stopped reading after the phrases "I've been a fan since" and "true fans.". Thanks for your cv and lecture.

If the shoe fits..........

Ive been a fan since those days and I can tell u we never trashed the players or the teams however we ripped the crap out of the coaches. Booing was the norm back in the 70s and we directed it at the ***** who were "coaching" those Teams. Even Howard was on thin ice after losing to Florida A&M.....of course that game forced him to make a change at QB which led to Kelly coming in as a true frosh against Penn State.

The fan base was soo supportive back then that the football program was on the verge of being shut down. It is the fans duty to voice their displeasure with the coaches when they see fit. Bad mouthing players is not right but the corches are fair game, especially when they show ineptitude for their paid job. After a couple seasons of the worst defense in the history of CANES football something has to be said, which is why the banners flew. I support the kids, but the corches have lost my support. 3 wins over ****** teams aren't gonna change my opinion of the corches. If they beat the Nolies, then I might be headed back to supporting them.

For me to fully support the corches, MIAMI has to win out, and win their bowl game convincingly.

I agree with the OP.
Times have changed.
I would bet 80% of this forum are under 40 years old and still need mother to wipe them.

Then we now have the internet where anyone can be a big shot. Lots of internet big shots around here.
I have never heard so much bull**** in my life.

Totally agree.

Winning and losing turns fans into a**holes. Doesn't change the fact that Folden has coached very vaginally the past 3/12 years. FSU will reveal much.

OP is like a typical Cubs fan: loyal to the NTH; undemanding of excellence.
Result: Cubs management doesn't have to field a winning team to profit well; no tradition of championships.

Thank God that there are still many Canes fans that lived through, and remember excellence, and championships. Spoiled? You bet!

Go back and re-listen to Goldie's speechifying when he first arrived. He didn't have to, but he did ballyhoo The U's rich tradition, excellence, and championships. Of course we believed him. It's what we wanted to hear. There's no shame in believing, and giving him the chance to deliver. HE HAS NOT DELIVERED! His head corching has been questionable, at best. He has enough of a bad track record to now negatively influence new recruits. His embarrassingly incompetent corching has sown the seeds of his own destruction.

The last three games, against mediocre competition, have proven two things: 1, we can beat mediocre teams; 2, Goldie feels the heated vitriol of the fans sufficiently to try and save his job.

Will Goldie achieve redemption? It may appear that under sufficient fan pressure Goldie is starting to make adjustments to his corching intelligence. Personally not touching the green/orange Kool-Aid until there are positive results against high-caliber competition. He might even be realizing that The U, and 305 recruits, are an entirely different animal than the B1G.

The banner is the 12th man. Fly it.

Great Post

Funny part is that's it's really on a few dozen at the most, they're just the vocal minority. Shout down anyone who disagrees with them, PM pathetic insults, neg'ing etc. it's pretty comical.
The absolute best is they've now told themselves that they had some hand in the recent success because of their discourse.
Delusion at it's best, LMAO.
