Dear ********:

Thanks for nominating three more 'Canes: Ken Dorsey, Ray Lewis, and Dan Morgan. All deserving of accolades for their outstanding college football careers.

Putting that aside, you continue to snub Howard Schnellenberger, one of the admittedly greatest coaches in the history of the college game, and one who is much more deserving than many of the generic and forgettable names who have made it through your front door.

That you reject Coach Schnellenberger for the most bureaucratic, illogical, and asinine of excuses, pretty much makes your organization about as legitimate as one of the ******* kids of King Henry VII.

Howard is a legend. His success and achievements as a builder of programs, speaks for itself. To deny Coach Schnellenberger a place in the hall of fame, is like rejecting the greatness of Ernest Hemingway as an author because you didn't care for "Across the River and Into the Trees."

So either fix it, or go the way of all those other ignoramuses who find themselves stinking up the place as they decompose on the wrong trash heap of history.

Sincerely,

Those of the rest of us with IQ's above room temperature.

He deserves it, period. I know they have their rule of 150 wins, or whatever, but that's just plain stupid. A coach that makes an impact like Howard did deserves to be in, period. Change the **** rule, you idiots. ****, just rewrite it and say, "150 wins are needed, unless you won a national title". ANYTHING to get the man in.

Still, it doesn't really matter. It's a joke of an institution anyway.

TWO threads on this?

Oh well, it's still just a matter of time before 1LuvCane, Empirical, and JD08 show up to derail this thread.

You've been warned a second time.

Winning percentage.

A coach becomes eligible three years after retirement or immediately following retirement provided he is at least 70 years of age. Active coaches become eligible at 75 years of age. He must have been a head coach for a minimum of 10 years and coached at least 100 games with a .600 winning percentage*.

Howard is old enough.

Howard coached enough years.

Howard coached enough games.

Howard's winning percentage barely breaks .500. Louisville and FAU killed him, he was sub-.500 at both places.

I knew it was some bogus crap. He was a program builder, so of course his % is lower.

And while I am not disagreeing with you, and he did preside over some building at Louisville and FAU, the wins did not come as fast or as frequently at those schools as they did at UM.

What he did at UM would certainly get him into the CF-HOF if if if he just won more games overall.

He needed to win 28 games that he lost and this would all be moot.

PS, there are NBA HOF coaches who are barely over .500 for a career.

Maybe you could tweak the intro a tad.

That's still hurtful. I've always been very respectful of you.

Back to ignoring you Pops....

Good for you.

You've got a nice scam going. You post in everyone's threads, you react to everyone's posts, and then when anyone responds to one of your porsts, you accuse them of being obsessed with you.

When I look at who reacts to my posts, you are right near the top. I'm sure I'm not at the top of your list of reactors, though.

It is pretty obvious who is obsessed with whom.

But keep pulling your "I know you are, but what am I" schtick. It's as obvious and hacky as NYSOM's fake-*** schtick.

Criminal to keep Howard out. His college resume is untouchable and then there was coming to THE U and saving college football from a boring death. How many times do they think OU vs NE is the war between to sad *** option team would draw. Howard lit a fire under college football and showed the way to innovation giving teams other than the monsters a chance. College football has managed to return to the days of two or three teams being all that matters with rare exception like LSU which now passes as an outsider. Plus he remains the gentleman other wish they could pretend to be.
