Only Mario is to Blame

Monday: "14.5 is free money. Put the mortgage on FSU."

Miami loses by 7.

Saturday: "Mario is such a loser".

Can I have some context on what Iowa is for reference? Also give me a mediocre offense like Tennesse for reference

A negative value of 20 is pretty horrible. Very few teams get in the 30s.

Iowa’s game against Minnesota two weeks ago had a value generated of -27.7.

Miami last week against NC State was -25.3.

Low IQ coach.

You just dont see low IQ coaches succeeding at the highest levels. A key factor is that higher IQ coordinators often dont want to work for guys like that. Mario may not have been exposed for who he truly is until recently, but he's certainly been exposed now.

Update:

This game will also receive a negative value generated rating when the numbers come out on Monday.

That’s 6 for the season.

We actually might match last year’s negative offensive value games.

The QBs change. The OCs change. One thing remains the same during all of these negative value seasons.
We have the same number of wins…

It’s his team he has to get blame for the qb situation. I just don’t see how you can let TVD go to bama and the fans be okay with it. He would of gotten ripped either way.

Mario took over Oregon in 2018.

According to F+ analytics, these are the number of games in which Oregon’s offense received a NEGATIVE value generated rating under Mario:

2018 (with Justin Herbert at QB): 6 games including 2 games with negative value scores over 20, which is insane.

2019 (Herbert): 5 games

2020: 3 games (COVID meant only 7 games that year)

2021: 5 games (when the roster was stacked with Mario recruits)

2022: 8 games

2023: 5 games (counting NC St and we still have plenty to go).

Basically, almost half the games Mario coaches every year generates negative offensive value.

Does Dawson suck? Yes. I called him the “Destroyer of Offenses” in the coaching search thread for a reason. Does TVD suck? Yes.

But those two haven’t been the OC-QB combo the entire time.

Mario is the only common denominator.

Stop listening to anybody that tells you Mario doesn’t interfere in the offense. Or Mario doesn’t have a preferred style. Or that what Mario has done is what the big boys do and this is the offense that UGA and champions run.

There is no QB that is going to save us from this. There is no recruiting class that is going to save us from this. There is no OC that is going to save us from this.

Life under Mario will be a minimum of at least 5 games a year where the offense will produce a negative value. We will flip a coin as to whether we win those games. And that’s how you lose 2 to 5 games a year, depending on how the coin falls.

Since everyone keeps throwing out the narrative that mario interferes with offenses i figured id just see for myself. I've watched 5 or more games now each of Joe Moorehead , Marcus Arroyo and Shannon Dawson without Mario as their head coach and their offenses looked pretty much the same as it did with Mario. What I did notice is that each of their offenses lacked creativity. Heck Marcus Arroyo isn't even coaching anywhere I don't think at the moment lol smh. At the end of the day though it falls on Mario because he's the head coach but the meddling In the offense stuff is pretty much a myth thats been repeated so long people just take it as fact without doing their homework.

Good job. I appreciate the information but I don't know what negative value offense means specifically outside of the obvious. How bad does the offense have to perform in order to achieve a negative value score? What is the formula be used to calculate that?

Even without knowing the exact definition of a negative value offense, I can easily infer that Mario is one of the worst in college football which is easy to believe because I've been watching this putrid garbage for most of the year in addition to the year before. I know Mario is a meathead who has no feel for the game. Listening to him talk about how the game plan vs FSU was "Fairly Aggressive" is quite frankly shocking and bizarre at the same time. He seems to have a very skewed even warped way of viewing the game. It's honestly more than a bit strange . Someone here mentioned low IQ and while I will stop short of saying that I must admit that it would make perfect sense.

I just can’t understand how/why a coach would see the results of the A&M game and then decide to meddle in it and break the offense.

Then I also can’t understand how if our coach did that and he saw how bad the offense got he wouldn’t be all for going back to the A&M game offense.

Honestly it just defies logic. I just can’t think any coach would be that stubborn or stupid.

There is also no denying that after the Temple game something changed. Since Temple we have not seen one trick play, not one single shovel pass to the WR coming in motion and our WR rarely line up outside the hashes anymore.

I really wish one of our media would ask where has the creativity of the offense gone.

Thank you for sharing this, brother!

I doubt that it’ll resonate with the slurp crew, as they are all in at this point. It doesn’t matter how many facts and stats you post to prove your point, most of them will only double down as our descent to football oblivion continues.

The biggest red flag is that this moron of a head corch has got to know these stats, yet he doubles down and wants more of it.

Can’t wait til the Wario experiment is over.
