One thing I noticed rewatching TAMU game…

I'd like to see some plays run that are designed to get our OL to the second level for some free hits on the OSU linebackers. I don't care how tough Reese and Styles are- a dozen plays of Mauigoa and Cooper ruthlessly hitting them could soften up their second level come the fourth quarter.
They defend the B gap well. I see Brockenmeyer needing help with McDonald most of the game. This is going to be a tough match up. We are going to have to find some success running and passing. I am fantasizing we run some tempo. I can see this game having less snaps than A&M and that was low. We can't afford any turnovers. I can see a OSU score like Texas or IU, 17-13 ish. Hopefully, we have the 17. You know we will go back to the bubble screens. I hate our bubble screen #'s and they will be ready for them.

Elijah Lofton is knocking people back again.

As the president of his fan club headed into the season, my biggest surprise was the drop off in his physicality. I think the shoulder injury had a lot to do with that.

When Lofton is blocking like a fullback, his overall game becomes much more effective. We’ll need all of that and more against the best LBs in America.
Don't do this to yourself.

Agree and the power he shows is going to be a matchup nightmare in the blocking game against those linebackers. He creates instant leverage.

He did lay a couple of really great ones on some of those Fletcher runs. He is about to face a different level of LB though in 5 days. Those TAMU guys on the 2nd and 3rd level didn’t want to get muddy. Reese and Styles will bring it to him and see how much he likes it.
I like that match up in our favor. The power and leverage lofton creates is going to be a problem for those linebackers.

He got his hat on the proper side. Technique and attention to detail.

I believe who is in the booth is fluid by games, analysts or coaches. Cruthfield, Drisko and Hoefer are likely choices. Maybe Cassano as well. Obviously, not all in one game as D analysts will be in there as well.

Dawson is tight with drisko and hoefer so I imagine they actively work with Dawson. Casano is a Mario guy but a vet - curious what their dynamic is. FWIW, if Dawson bolts, I’m sure he’s taking hoefer and drisko with him.

Lofton scored a td in the last three regular season games. The first came in the NC State game. A couple of incomplete passes thrown his way early on seemed to continue his season-long struggles. The coaches kept him involved though and he caught a 29 yard td.

Seems to me that the coaches were pushing to keep Lofton involved and it is paying off. He also carried the ball in those games. His blocking has improved over those games as well. As alluded to up thread, his health is probably much improved and the coaches feel confident in his capabilities. UM sure could use some increased production out of the TE position.

This. Not only was their dline weak but those were some of the worst run fits we seen all year

Seems like Arvell Reese was getting the hype early on in the season and now it’s Sonny styles
