One thing I’m hearing about Carson Beck from the Hecht…

Beck is someone who has banked a ton of reps in a mentally demanding offense in the SEC. When Shannon Dawson spoke to Todd Monken (offensive coordinator for the Ravens who coached Beck at UGA), Monken vouched heavily for both Beck’s physical talent and his ability to see the game. So far, that is playing out in the meeting rooms.

Beck’s “down” season would have been one of the best passing seasons in UM history. He completely carried UGA’s offense which was weak on the line and had nobody at receiver. I put Mike Bobo in the same tier as Josh Gaddis or Dan Enos as an OC. He’s 100% trash.

If healthy he will be one of the top quarterbacks in the country. I don’t think he has anywhere near Cam’s Superman like escape ability but he also won’t try to extend plays nearly as much as Cam does. I expect things to be a bit more structured with fewer big plays but fewer “what the **** are you doing?” Late throws into traffic.

I think a lot of fans are underrating his experience. This isn’t some random G5 guy who’s stepping up in competition. This dude has played against the very best from years. If anything, Miami’s ACC schedule should be a step down for him.

Commenting on Beck being an upgrade from Cam is wayyyyyyyy different from NOT wanting Beck to do better-wins vs loses...

I live in SEC country and the UGA fans didn't like Beck, heckkkk my barber and my youngest son whose a UGA fan for that matter (and I wrote his azzz out of my will) hated Beck! His performances that is...

So the plumbline should be Beck being better than (last years) Beck NOT Cam *1...

He's not reaching that bar brah...

I will never be grateful for us trotting out a QB better than Emory. He has no business on the roster, never mind playing a single snap of live ball - blowouts included. As a Cane fan, I have higher expectations, as UM is a professional collegiate football team.

And how do you know that exactly? Season hasnt been played! U see the schedule UGA played last year? Nothing like the ACC. Bobo as a OC is like Gattis. Your buddies at the barbershop sound like some idiots. This man averaged 4000 yards 25 tds a game a 70% passer had 3 loses in 2 seasons! A stat someone brought up UGA receviers had 900 yards worth of drops last year. There running game was 80 somethin in the nation. We not talking about personality and liking someone we talking football!

I expect hmmm an update? It’s a football site. We discuss player injuries. We discuss rehab all the time and how progress is or isn’t coming. It’s not insane to wonder two weeks after her was “fully cleared” to wonder how he is progressing without assuming I need to know if it’s a 5mph Lob or a space X speed out pattern.

So it’s ok to get an update about his mental fitness but asking about his physical fitness progress is an issue. Okay lol

Beck isn’t the concern. He’s going to be very good and even with a more run centric approach our offense will put lots of points on the board.

My concern on offense is will our receivers be good enough to win battles when we absolutely need them?

My concern on defense is can we both stop the run and generate an effective interior pass rush?

My concern overall is who are our difference makers. Is there a guy the will put the team in his back and single handedly will the team to victory? We’ve had guys like that. Cam last year. Hester, Lewis, a long line of game breakers. Do we have one on this team?

First of all, he just started throwing after a long time not throwing.

Secondly, not only is it going to take him time to get zip back on the ball, but it’s very possible he’s being instructed to not really drive the ball just yet.

So overall that's a bizarre statement without any context. Also, can you link the article?

Good thing we'll find out early how good he is. I'm excited but until he's full go and taking hits I am cautious about anything.
